Question Ideas for a quick low carb snack?

Hi ladies. I haven't been on this board in a LONG time! But now I'm trying to get back to low carbing. My problem is that I have a baby and I need ideas for QUICK snacks during the day. I do celery and peanut butter sometimes, and I was eating trail mix but it has pieces of chocolate in it (which I LOVE but I feel like it's too much), so I need some new suggestions. I usually have a salad for lunch, so I'm hungry way before dinner time. TIA!

I like beef jerky, or any kind of seeds or nuts. I know a lot like pork rinds for a munchie type food too.

I like to snack on sunflower seeds because it takes time to eat them. Seems like you are getting more than what you are use to. If you like deviled eggs you can make some and have them ready in the fridge if you get hungry.

Cottage cheese mixed with slivered almonds for a satisfying crunch!

Zone bars (kind of pricey, but it's a nice occaisional treat)

instant split pea or black bean soup cups

individual serving mocrowaveable soup -- there are many available that have 7g protein and 15g or less of carbs. (I think I had some chicken noodle)

    Forgot to add:

    Soy crisps

rice cake with peanut butter or cream cheese

Apple with or without cheese or nut butter (apples are a "free" food like raw veggies on the IR diet, but not necessarily on atkins)

OK What and where do you get sweet potato chips? Never heard of them?

I've gotten them at Kroger. You can get sweet potato or veggie chips. The veggie chips are made of all different veggies obviously. I usually find them on the potato chip aisle.

    Default try these:

    1. avocado salad:
    - diced avocados (make sure they're ripe)
    - diced cucumbers
    - diced celery
    - diced onions (optional)
    - vegetable oil or olive oil - as much as you like (no carbs...)
    - salt (not if you're on low-sodium diet)
    - pepper (as much as you like)

    2. celery with peanut butter

    3. apples with low-calorie whipped cream

    4. apples with peanut butter

    4. baked apples:
    - cored apple (don't peel it)
    - 1 tsp. raisons (inside the core)
    - cinnamon - as much as you like (no carbs)
    - 1 tsp. honey or brown sugar (it's really not much carbs)
    - 4 tbsps. water to bake the apple in it
    - put in oven at 400 F for 10-17 minutes if it's 1 apple, a little longer if it's more apples
    - experiencing irregular periods since the beginning, when i was 13, and when i did get them, i was in so much pain, i'd literally lose consciousness and pass out!
    - at 20, started to "mysteriously" gain weight, but attributed it to mild depression or failure / lack of discipline
    - at 21.5, i went on the internet, searched, just for the heck of it, "irregular period + weight gain", and there i found it, pcos.
    - but wasn't sure that's what i had
    - but a few months later, i saw facial hair growing! and i was so depressed, i felt so ugly, fat, and disgusting (and even - suicidal!!!)
    - so, i went to my family doctor, and he referred me to an endocrinologist (doctor specializing in hormones), he diagnosed me with pcos, started me on metformin to lower insulin and regulate hormones (weight gain is a result of high insulin level, which is a result of the production of an excess of androgens, such as testosterone, therefore, lowering insulin results in lower apetite and lower sugar absorption)
    - several months later, i started losing weight, but then plateaued, periods stopped again, was retaining water, and was still seeing facial hair, so he started me on spironolactone (blocks the action of testosterone so that none of the above would occur, also acts as a diuretic, and used for people with high blood pressure)
    - current status: periods a little more frequent, no more cramping!!!, no more water retention, no more facial hair, no more depression, lost tons of weight!!!
    - weight in dec. 2001 was 155 pounds (height is 5' 2")
    - dress size dropped from 16 to 3
    - body-weight dropped from 155 to 105
    - never tried to concieve (still single, never married)

    * THERE'S A CORRECT TREATMENT OUT THERE FOR YOU. BUT, DON'T DEPEND SOLELY ON THE MEDICATION/S. YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR PART AND LEAD AN ACTIVE AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE (PROPER DIET, PROPER EXERCISE). LOWER SUGAR INTAKE TO KEEP THE INSULIN LEVEL AND BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL STEADY. AND, LOWER STRESS LEVELS, BECAUSE STRESS HAS ALSO BEEN PROVEN TO PROMOTE WEIGHT GAIN AND TO EXACERBATE PCOS SYMPTOMS, BECAUSE STRESS MESSES WITH YOUR HORMONES !
    * READ A LOT ABOUT YOUR CONDITION SO YOU CAN WORK TOGETHER WITH YOUR DOCTOR TO FIND A SUITABLE TREATMENT.
    * DONT TAKE INFORMATION FOR GRANTED - FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF.
    * RE-GAIN YOUR (GOOD) QUALITY OF LIFE.
    * DON'T EVER GIVE UP ! ! ! ! ! !

    HI,

    Here are some suggestions:

    1) Apple (has pectin in it so very feeling)
    2) Kavali Crisp breads (3g carbs per slice) you can cut these in half and make a mini sandwich with avocado, dip or cheese whatever you like
    4) berries and 3 almonds
    5) yoghurt covered nuts (as you seem to have a little sweet tooth)

    Good luck
