I have been on orthotricyclen for almost a year. What kind of information are you needing?

I took ortho cyclen for years. It is monophasic unlike ortho tri cyclen. It has moderate level of prog. and moderate estrogen. It cleared my skin and kept the nasty hairs away. I got quite hairy during pregnancy and it took about 4-6 months each time to minimize the hair to light and shorter length. I felt pretty good on this one and the periods were managable Never had breakthrough either (except when I took the generic by mistake-not good).

HEy I'm on ortho tri-cyclen, but for the first time I had a major problem and during like almost the whole thing I bled and bled, its been over for a few days...whats the difference in ortho cyclen and ortho tri-cyclen? Do they have the same exact ingredients but diff amounts? Does ortho cyclen clear acne too?

Ortho cyclen has the same amount of estrogen but a steady amount of progestin compared to the triphasic version ortho tri cyclen. It is as good at helping skin and better at controlling breakthrough bleeding because it is monophasic. I also found I felt better on the ortho cyclen the first half of the month since the estrogen was more balanced with the progestin. In the tri cyclen version the estrogen is a stronger ratio than the progestin in the first week to two. It caused me to have nausea from too high an estrogen affect. The ortho cyclen did not do this since it was balanced the whole month through. It is a moderate strength estrogen pill low androgen and low progestin affect.

    Hope this helps!

I was on ortho cyclen (sprintec) for two years. I just switched to yasmin but I am actually considering swapping back to ortho. I like the ortho better. Hope it works for you.

I take the ortho cyclen. I like it better then Mircette. I have regular (Like clock work) periods. My face has cleared up and I cna now manage the excessive hair.

I have taken so many BCP over the years, i can't remember them all Tri Phasal worked really well for me early on. Then every time I saw a new gyno they would change me. Now my doc has me on Ortho cyclen and I love it.

I must be one of the only ones who hated Ortho tri cyclen. I tried it back in college and it made me SO sick. I threw the packs out and didn't take another BCP until my GYN prescribed Yasmin, which works really well for me.

I take Ortho Cyclen. I took it some years ago for 6 months and i did really well on it; cleared up my skin, lost weight etc.

Now I don't do well any more (have taken it for another 1/2 year). I am constantly bloated and irritable or depressed. I will go off the pill in 4 weeks and have a copper coil instead.

I did not want to scare you. It was the best pill I've taken; only that I reacted badly this time. Maybe it' because my hormones are all messed up from the progestin-only pill I was put on last year.
