Unhappy ADVICE NEEDED!! Unable to use Diabetic Medication!!!

    Dear Sisters and Friends,

This is my first formal post, after having read information/posts on this particular side for months. I have had PCOS for years, since birth to the best of my knowledge. However, after being placed on the drugs Avandia and Zetia, my symptoms went away. Within a year, however, my liver enzymes went up dramatically and I was forced to stop taking those medications. Because of the liver complications, I am unable to take ANY diabetic medications. Also, I had a blood clot at the age of 21, which means that I am not able to take estrogen/hormones or birth control products ( which means diddly since I only have about 3 periods a year.) I was wondering if ANYONE had ANY kind of similar problems or ANY advice to give on what in the heck I can do to get rid of/aid my symptoms/problems associated with PCOS?

( Hair on Back/Chest/Face/Breasts/Fingers/Toes/Stomach; Acne ALL over, especially under arms and between legs/pubic region; Hair loss on scalp; weight gain;dark patches of skin between legs/under arms; period problems.)

Any and all info/help will be GREATLY appreciated. I know this was a lot to read and I thank you for taking the time. God bless you all!!!
    Joyfully in Christ

    Hope

    Default liver problems

I also cannot take any of the diabetic medications due to previous liver problems - just not worth the risk.

I am doing the IR diet, exercising, and taking a small amount of herbs/vitamins: Evening Primrose, Black Cohosh, Flax Seed, Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Multivitamin, and Pre-natal.

So far I have found some improvement: energy levels are up, I'm not hungry all the time, I sleep better, I no longer have night sweats, and my clothes are fitting better. No real change yet with the excess hair, but I'm hoping that will come around in time.

    LiteraryCyster~

I swear this post could be written by myself! I too, cannot take any diabetic meds, due to liver enzymes being elevated. As of now, I am not taking anything, but I think Bethers has some really good ideas and advice on what to do to control it!

    Good luck
