Over the last couple of weeks there has been tremendous press coverage
around PCOS, especially on local news stations. This coverage is a result
of two new pieces of information - a new study published in the Journal of
the American Heart Association, which found that women with PCOS may have a
higher risk of heart disease and a new study which found insulin-
sensitizing drugs such as Metformin are effective in treating with PCOS
even if you are not obese or insulin-resistant, this was reported at the
Endocrine Society's recent 2002 conference. You can read more about these
