We are using Children's Hope International to adopt from Colombia. So far our experience with them has been wonderful, especially with Julie from the Oregon office, who is also the program director for the Colombia program. I believe CHI is now doing adoptions in Colombia, Guatemala, Russia, China, Kzakhstan(sp?), India and Nepal, as well as waiting patiently for the Vietnam program to open back up.

I've heard about children's hope- we actually went to an orientation (our first one- of many) I think their guatemala program is not accepting any papers right now?? i could be wrong- We know of someone (co-worker of dh) that is also
starting up with the Colombia program thru them. I do know- while we were in guatemala- (we used carolina hope- as joel was "assigned to them" and we switched agencies- bethany to them- only because i saw his picture and fell in love with him) that their (children's hope) interpeter is the greatest person EVER!

my adivse- check out orientations from different agencies- and then you go from your gut feeling- which agency and program feels the best for you-

I'm not sure if they're accepting new applicants for Guatemala yet or not. I thought they were now, since the Guatemala mailing list started moving again (they used to put Colombia families on the Guatemala list cause there were so few of us, now we have our own list but still receive those too). You'd have to contact them to find out for sure though.
