    Question New to the site

    Hi..I am new to this site and trying to figure it all out..any suggestions????
    Well I am 31 years old and been diaginosed with pcos..My problem recently is having prolonged periods and spotting...I went to my doctor and he put me on b.c. for a month to cause me to sop bleeding..it worked fora obout a week..when i go back ai m to start metformin..i was on it for about 5 months last year..I noticed that taking it caused me to start losing weight wiht my thyroid medication and when I quit taking the metformin I started to gain and not lose..anybody have that prob?
    Anyhow my husband and i are wanting to have children..I jsut need encouragement ..so if anyone would like to respond to me please do..here is my email...alley1@brightok.net....

    Levoxl 100 Mg daily
    Prenatal Vitamins... (One Source)
    Super-B complex vitamin
    25,000 IU vitamin A

    DX: PCOS July 03,
    Hypothyroidism July 03

    Took Metformin 1500 mg from July 03 to Nov 03..
    Clomid 50 mg July 03 to Oct 03
    Ovulated never conceived...
    Started 1500 mg Metformin Sept 25th, 04

    many people do loose weight on MET. The Dr. told me that met could potentially help me loose 20% of my excess weight. SO if you can tolerate it I would get back on it. HEHE.

    Hi Ali! i just started coming to this site also. I am 29 going on 30. I have had PCO since I was 15. The metformin is great but I did not get pregnant on it. I was on Avandia and Clomid. They had to give me 250mg a day of Clomid which the norm is 50mg. But I have twin boys that are 27 months now. There is hope you just have to find the right doctor. If you go on clomid make sure your not afraid to have more then one. Good luck!!!!
