I started Wellbutrin XL just over a week ago too. I've had no side effects at all. Definitely talk to your doctor if it's making you so sick. Hope you feel better soon!

I was on Wellbutrin XL and took the regular before the XL came out and I had no side effects. I think the few meds. that I tried before it were somehow affecting how my metformin worked because I was gaining weight rather than losing. Unfortunately because of finances and lack of insurance, I haven't been able to go to the doc and get a new prescription in over two months. Sorry, you're having problems. Hopefully you and your doc can find the med that works for you.

Sorry, I dont have any experience or advice with depression meds since I'm new to this forum.

I just wanted to welcome you and wish you luck in finding a med that will work for you.

    Thumbs up

I LOVE WELLBUTRIN!! LOL. I've been on and off antidepressants since I was 15 (read 10 years). I've tried zoloft, paxil, and wellbutrin. Paxil was alright, but it made me kind of a zombie. I wasn't depressed anymore, but I wasn't happy either. I was nothing. Zoloft, gave me so much nervous energy that I was about ready to jump out of my skin.

About side effects, I had some, but the went away after a couple of weeks. My stomach wasn't too thrilled at first, but it doesn't make me nauseous anymore. And that god awful drymouth went away. Make sure you take it whenever you wake up, though, because it will mess with your sleep. It can cause constipation, and that never went away, but I just started eating more fiber (which was good for me anyway).

Once I got past the side effects (about 2-3 weeks), I was fine. My mood is better, and more stable and I have more energy. The side effects SHOULD go away, but you just might have to wait them out...

I have been on Wellbutrin xl for 2 months, I have not had any side effects. As a matter of fact I do not feel different at all. I am still dealing with depression. I plan on finishing my bottle and not take them any more. Whats the point? I hate it.

    Unhappy

    Hopefully,
Sweetie, you sound like you're giving up. If this medicine isn't working for you...talk to you doctor about something else. I'm on Effexor and doing much better.

Hang in there ~ keep fighting

Hey Rainbow...i just want to echo that you should def call your doc. as with any meds, Welbutrin XL s/e will probably pass with in a couple of weeks. I really like taking XL. I take it right before bed and haven't noticed any side effects. *warning* if you just stop taking it cold turkey, it can make you VERY VERY dizzy. I would talk to your doc.
