I have been doing South Beach since March, and doing very well on it. I have noticed in the last few weeks that I'm getting really grossed out on meat (deli meat expecially). I think it's the texture. Before, I loved turkey and other meat... but I'm getting burned out.
One thing I tried this week was roast beef wrapped around swiss cheese... and that was great. Another thing I liked was salami with american cheese. I'ts hard to get creative with meats. Anyone have any good ideas? I think I'm going to start doing tuna and salad for a while. I'm also burned out on pistacio nuts, so I switched to raw almonds (they are so good). It's funny how it's easy to get tired of things. I just want to stick with this diet as close as possible, cause I'm feeling so good.
what about meatloaf,, i make one 1x a week,, use the beef, egg, spices,sf bbq sauce,,,, yum
tuna is good made with real mayo, on lettuce, sometimes i put some ranch dressing
bacon and tomato, cheese, mayo -- wrapped in a lettuce leaf (instead of bread) -you can use this for any sandwich - i usually use the romain lettuce
this is gross, but i put a few slices of cheese in the microwave, melt it and eat it
celery with cream cheese
celery with cheddar cheese
hand full of berries (lots of fibre) and if you like mix with cottage cheese
sliced cucumber
a pickle - although high in sodium
sf jello
i also like roast beef (one that you cook) then have it sliced with mozz. cheese melted
there are some great recipes on the net -- i found this pizza recipe, where you bake the crust using eggs/cream/cheese,, then put you topping on and bake.... i can't locate it right now but it was pretty good,, even dh loved it.
One suggestion about tuna, get the albacore kind instead of the chunky light, the taste is so much better.
If you like salmon, I bake the fish and then mix it up with mayo like tuna fish or with herbed cream cheese. *Don't use the canned salmon, its ground up with the skin and some bones. Some people may be ok with that but it grossed me out.*

When I was low carbing, I'd take some "grape" tomatoes, some lettuce, some bacon crumbles, and a little mayo and whip it all up in a bowl. It was like a BLT without the bread!
The salmon bones are icky.

I'm pretty much sick of all meats except those served to me in a nice restaurant, LOL. I am so sick of meat and with this heat I don't want fruits or veggies either! It's going to be a LONG summer.

I mix canned salmon with no sugar mayo and 2 eggs, add some salt, pepper, chopped onions and form into small patties and fry in olive oil. I pick the bones out first and give that and the fish juices to my dogs. The soft salmon bones don't gross me out, but it's a nice treat for the dogs.
