Alright so I am on Metformin XR 1500mg per day. One pill 3 times a day. This is the first time I have been put back o n it after about 1.5-2 years. 1500mg was what I was on when I stopped taking it. I started out slowly I remember that much. But with taking 1500mg a day right off, how long is it going to take my body to adjust? I feel like I can't stay out of the bathroom.
A long time ago they wanted to put me on 2000mg, but told my Dr. that my stomach could not handle it, which is true. I just don't remember how long this was going to last for, and would like to prepare my self for it, as it is already starting. :s

my dr told me to start out slow. dont start at 1500 right away.
try this:
half a pill for 7 days
1 pill for 7 days
2 pills for 7 days
3 pills (1500mg)

this will prevent such bad side effects. take them at night if possible too, and don't move the dose up until the effects from the last dose wear off.

just came off 5 rounds of clomid 50mg, O'ed each time
taking metformin, prenatals, folic acid, prometrium, and baby asprin.

I don't think you can cut the XR can you? I am almost sure that you can't so i would start with 1 pill for several days, then 2 and so forth like keeping the faith suggested , good luck!

correct... you cannot break the extended release tablets... you're supposed to start with 1 and then work up to 2 or however many you're prescribed
