My gyno prescribed this for me to help me get a period because it was mia a couple of months after my son was born. I have been getting a period but I don't think I am ovulating. I will try ovulation strips again. Does anyone know of side effects of this that they experienced. I started at a ladies gym 2 weeks ago and I have been working my butt off going every day and now I am gaining weight. I don't know if its the medicine or what. I know I am not pregnant. I am really upset because I had lost 10lbs prior to the gym and medicine and am back at square one. I am currently on day 6 of medroxyprogesterone 10mg.
I have been taking medroxyprogesterone also known as provera for the past 4 years and my side effects are. ... Weight gain, breast tenderness, insomnia, headache, deprssion, dizziness, hirsutism, some hair loss. I didn't realize all the side effects I had until about 3 months ago, I had really bad breast tenderness and I desided to read more about provera. I didn't even think my weight gain had anything to do with the pills I just thought it had to do with PCOS but now that I think about it, it could both be contributing. The pills make sense though I started to gain weight after I started taking them. Sorry for rambling. I hope I could help a little.
