Post Sideburns

Does anyone here shave their side burns? Is it a good idea?
The hair that grows there tends to be a little curly/wavy
I thought that maybe I should start shving there too

I do, when I feel like it. My hair is a very very dark brown and straight - extremely noticable. If it bothers you a lot, shave it once and see what happens. Or maybe wax it instead.

I shave that area, as well as many others. I don't know if it's a good idea, but I don't really have a choice now. The only other thing I could do at this point is wait until it grows out enough to wax it because I have too much to tweeze. Oh well.

I was thinking the same, i thought I`d try a cream for my chin area because plucking was causing spots, so have had to give it a rest for a couple of days.... if the cream works was thinking of trying it on the sideburns...if I wait much longer I`ll end up with a goaty

thanks for sharing and good luck

Unhappy sideburns!!

I think shaving makes it worse, my friend done that & now looks like a man and has to shave everyday! I have waxed mine with Sally Hansen wax strips. It looks a lot beeter & makes me feel better about myself. it did hurt the first couple of times, but it's worth it. Good luck! I have heard that Nads Wax is really good, I'm going to try that.

Sally Hansen wax strips - I love those! I use them for my eyebrows and upper lip and chin. Never used them on the sideburns - might try tonight.

My problem is (besides having extra hair in the area in the first place) is that I don't know how much and what spots exactly to take off. EVERYONE (unless you shave it off, or remove it in some way) has some kind of sideburns - even almost hairless women have some wispy hair right in front of their ears. I shaved mine off completely once, up to the "scalp" hair line (if that makes sense) and for one you can see the tan line and two it looks way obvious (on me anyways). So, when you talk about waxing your sideburns, do you take off everything, or try to shape it to look normal?

Thanks cysters. I think I'll look into getting some Nads.
Does anyone know what the approximate price would be in Canada?

I don't know where you can get Nads, but it didn't work well for me. It hurt really bad, made me bleed and didn't have a very long shelf life. It also left quite a few hairs behind. If you do try it, I hope you have better luck than I did.

I'm sorry you were depressed. I have shaved the side of my face, my chin and my neck since I was 14 or 15. I know everyone says it will come in thicker and everything, which is not true. It does come in dark because the sun doesn't have a chance to bleach it like longer hair. It comes in course because of the cutting method. I don't enjoy the fact that I have to shave, but it's something I deal with. It might not have been the best decision when I started shaving, but I made it and at least I feel I can go out in public and not look like a freak. Best of luck sweetie. I hope you are feeling better. ((((hugs))))

DOWN WITH NADS! I hated it, it's not worth the $30, I personally thought it was just like honey and it's painful, it's worthless junk. I have the sidesburns and they go all the way down to my neck. I absolutely hate em. I am getting it lasered, but the lasering isn't even working on em Oh well. Just putting in my 2 cents

Default sideburns

Hey there. I had sideburns. I never knew they were there until a guy commented on my "Elvis Presley" look. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I started bleaching them but that was too obvious, so I shaved them off. But that was awful because they came back even darker.

So I took the commitment to get electrolysis done and here I am 6 years after my last electrolysis session completely side burn free. It took a while but it was well worth it.

I am now contemplating laser on the rest of my face (ie. chin, upper lip, and neck). I really hate the hair and hope that laser can work.

I do not recommend shaving anything on your face. I am 21 and started shaving my face when I was 16. I now have a shadow all of the time and have to shave every day. wax it or bleach it!!

For hair removal I recommend waxing. Everytime I read about someone shaving it, I just shudder! I wish we could just do laser, but with the hormone problems of pcos, it just doesn't really work. Has anyone had any better luck with electrolysis and did it hurt a lot?
