Hmm I dont know about it but I can tell you my part...so dont get offended...everyone is different.
As to fingers/hands/feet tingling, I get it when 1- I wake up in the morning, sometimes one of my hands get tingled and numb; 2-when i am more than an hour on the mouse (lol) or locked in the same position where circulations hardly flow.
As to sighing part, I do a sharp inhale. You know how it is when a baby cry sooo much that once he's calm all you could hear from him is sighing or grasping for air. Well similar.
I do think that maybe i dont know about you, but maybe we are stressed out and we need some relaxation or perhaps we need to go to a massage therapist
i remember having that! and i'm SO sorry i cant remember what happened that it doesnt happen any more. (it could have been stress for me- after my son died, or it could have been my hypothyroid, or it could have been something unrelated and it just went away, cause i cant remember anything else that it could have been).
hope you get some answers. it really isnt fun!

I noticed that you are taking Effexor....I'm wondering how long you've been on it and at what dose?
I realize that everyone is different, however myself and a friend and an acquaintance have all had VERY bad side effects with Effexor. Weird things going on, including tingling.
MY experience....I knew almost immediately that I did not like the drug. I just felt very strange. And if I missed a dose, look out. My DR increased the dose and the strangeness got even stranger.
I'd wake up in the middle of the night with my arm flailing. I had no control over it whatsoever. Then it was wetting the bed. I once yawned for a half hour straight. My chest felt like it would burst. My fingers and toes and eventually hands and feet, then arms and legs would tingle or feel numb. The nightmares were atrocious and very vivid. I started at the lowest dose and worked my way up to 150 mg over several weeks. The 150 lasted all of four days before I refused to take it.
My friend also wet the bed. She had realistic dreams where she would talk to people, and once even fought with someone, fell down a flight of steps and through a glass door on the second story. There were other very strange things going on with her, most of which I passed off as a result of her problems, but they later stopped when she stopped the medication. She was taking about 300 mg three times per day for several years.
The acquaintance thought her dog (a samoyed) had pinned her to her bed and was laughing at her. It upset her enough to go to the hospital. And then went home and was petrified because a miniature version of herself was chasing her and trying to kill her. The EMTs and even the DR thought she was on heroin. She was on 150 MG / day for only about a week or two.
Anyway, the withdraws for me were even worse than the side effects 100 fold. I remember wishing I were dead. The DR said I had something against the medication from the get-go and it was all in my head, but it was after I was off the stuff that I found out the other experiences.
You may be having a side effect of the Effexor.

What you said is similar to what happened to me. I would wake up almost in the middle of night or in the morning with my hand/fingers tingling numb as if something heavy was on top of it(unless its my body - lol). But part of my arm usually the wrist area and up...would feel such pressure that it hurt due to the tingling/numbness. I had to rub, to ease the pain; I had to open and close my hand (as if I am squeezing a ball) in order for circulation to go thru, or for that pain to go away.
