Question Silly Question

Ok. I was dx with PCOS in 1998. I have had numerous ultrasounds and other tests. They have never found any cysts. Last saturday night I spent the entire evening in the ER with abdominal pain. The did a CT and the ER dr. said nothing was wrong. I went to my family dr on Monday and today they called and said that I have a cystic leison. I am familiar with cysts but not a cystic leison. I called my OB GYN and go on Tuesday. Can anyone tell me about this. My OB GYN said that it was very large. I just want to be prepared when I get there on Tuesday. Thank.

I'll take a guess at this....

cystic(related to cysts)
leison is a (tear, rupture or cut.)

So my guess is you had a cyst rupture and it did more damage than normal. It may also had dificulty healing and that too can be what caused it to become bigger.

Your pain can also be related to scar tissue build up.
This happens when cysts burst or if you have surgery or even with internal infections.(endometreosis comes to mind)

It took about 15 months and 3 ultra sounds to show my cysts.
So you very well can have them and they won't show up.

I would think this Dr would want to do a Lap(surgery~2 weeks off) to see what is going on in there. That could give them a whole new outlook.

For me, they found stage 4 endometreosis, adenmyosis, scar tissue wrapped around the bowel and my right tube was blown because of the endo.

I felt better after that first surgery, they removed most of the scar tissue and zapped most of the endo. I actually developed a sex drive after that.(short lived do to the adenmyosis)

But now I had my sec surgery and I am doing the best I have in several years.

I wish you luck, you have started a long journey.
Let me know if you need additional help or questions answered.

Patty

A cystic lesion is a fluid filled cyst lined by epithelial like cells.

Yesterday was the dr visit. She was very good. She talked with me about the problem I had been having. She even did an internal ultrasound in her office. The measurements of the cyst from the CT scan (ER) and the ultrasound (her) were different by one cintimeter. She is going to watch it for two weeks to see if it is going down by itself. I mentioned the endometriosis....she said it would be rare to have both PCOS and endometriosis. Not sure what to do or think.....Help

Shall I give her my phone number?

It is not rare at all/
She is just not up to date.

For her to rule it out with out checking is inconsiderate.
I hope you can trust her.

But if you start developing more symptoms or get worse with what you have, consider seeing someone else.

I posted a 2 year run of what I went through.
It is in "Do You have this Problem" forum.
It is under a sticky for "pelvic pain and non stop bleeds"(I didn't have this)

Check it out, you would be surprised at what someone "can" have.
