i was hoping some one could answer my qustion. i am 25year old, single women. i am hoping to adopted. looking at different countrys most won't allow single women to adopt untill they are between 30-35 some old.
so i was woundering if anyone on this message board have adopted and been a single women. i would love to hear from you. hope no one minded me asking the qustion

I'm no help, but I wanted you to know that I am hoping you get the answers you need. It is so unfair all the things we women must put up with, weather it is infertility or stupid adoption laws that make no sense. If you had gotten pregnant when you were 16 and the father wasn't around, no one would question your abilty to be a parent on your own. It's crazy! I hope it works out for you!

We are adopting from Liberia and I know they also allow single women to adopt, and I've never heard of any age restrictions either.

China allows single women to adopt but all persons must be over 30, not just singles.

I've been doing some research on Ethiopia and they allow single women to adopt. Their minimum age requirement is 25.

I'm fairly certain that Colombia allows single women to adopt as well. I don't think they impose any special age requirements on the woman, but they MAY request that you be open to an older child (toddler age I believe). Things have changed a lot there since we went, so that may not be current information.
