A Single Tear
Today a single tear ran down my cheek,
It was a tear for every sad ending a book ever had
And every song that makes me sad
A tear for all the hate and frustration this world holds
And a tear for every heart that is made of gold.
A tear for the lonely one leaning against the street light,
And for every country whose answer is to fight.
A tear for the old man who died the other day,
And a tear for every other girl who cried a tear today. |
