Hello! Can anyone recommend a plus size friendly reproductive endo or ob/gyn in the Durham/Raleigh area??

Hi Liz,
I no longer live in NC but I was never able to find a doctor that I was happy with. I had a particularly awful experience with Dr. Anita Hudson Fraley. I don't want to slander her by posting my personal opinion, but suffice to say she is NOT sympathetic to our issues in any way. Sorry I don't have better information for you! Good luck!!

Liz - So far I have been happy with Blue Ridge OB/GYNs... they have 2 locations. One in North Raleigh (that I use) and one across from REX. They know all about PCOS.....

Liz... they are all nice. If you plan on using them as an OB, I'd just take any appointment as you're gonna have to meet them all.... I know you're just seeing them for the 1st time but their wait isn't the best so just take whatever MD comes up first and just go from there. At my last OB/GYN I know I disliked 2 doctors that my MIL loved so its all a preference. Let me know how it goes. I go back Friday.

I was able to get an appointment for August 23rd with Karen in the Blue Ridge office. The lady I spoke with on the phone was friendly, so that made me comfortable so far! Thank you for the recommendation!!!

Well for regular check ups I go to Durhams Women's Clinic and see Cheryl Carroll. She's a wonderful and caring woman but a CNM and MSN so she can't handle my infertility issues.

I can't say I recomend them yet but I have an apt on the 16th with the Duke Fertillity Clinic. I'll let you know how it goes.

I like outside of Durham in a small town called Oxford. It's nice to see others from NC here to makes me feel like I'm not alone.

I've heard alot about Duke Fertility Clinic....please let me know how that goes!! Oxford isn't too far from me in Durham. I've just moved here April 1st...so I'm a newbie out here.

Welcome to the area then. I am going to have to reschedule my Apt due to my company getting a new software system that week and I have to learn how to use it. As soon as I go though I'll report back to you about how it went.

No Oxford isn't all that far from Durham at all and I go there regularly. You can email me off forum if you like angel clay @ embarq mail . com just take out all the spaces.

So I had my appt. this morning at Blue Ridge OB/GYN with Karen. She's starting me back on Provera and Metformin (the liquid version) and has also prescribed me 50 mg Clomid to take during days 5-9 of my cycle. The next step after this will be to have an HSG done, and then start the cycle again. Crossing my fingers!!

Yes! I felt really comfortable with her! We chatted and went over my history. She told me where she wants to start regarding medications, and I have a schedule to follow for my first cycle of meds. She was extremely informative and answered any question I had.
