Dear All,
This is my first time on this site, and I wanted to say that all of you who have been facing PCOS problem should be proud of yourself. This ain't any easy thing that we have to face - it is a life long burden, but handling it so well as you all have , it is the most courageous thing anyone doing.
About Me - I was diagnosed with PCOS in my late teens and since then I have been on BCP + Metaformin , I was almost 184.8 lbs, 5' 2" tall. I continued my medication for next 3-4 years and after that my sister advised me to stop the medication and I did. For one year my periods were regular and later on I started observing hair growth on my body. I again visited my endocronologist and by this time my weight was stable to 180 lbs.
After that I have been again on BCP + Metaformin+ laser treatment. So in total it has been 4-5 years of my medications. I am now 27 years old.
Recently I had a serious breakup and when I came to know the reason, it shattered me.
My skin around my back of the neck and ears and my lower arms is very dark. It embarasses me most of the times. I try to wear full sleve shirts and cover my neck with my hair. I am also tired of going to deramtologists. Dermatologists say it is pigmentation - but it is one of the symptoms of PCOS.
If anyone of you have similar problems and can advise me something positive for me to try out, that will be very helpful for me. Please let me know if you can refer me to a particular doctor. I am currently living in Philadelphia, US.
Thanks so much !
