I have them, mostly on my neck. I've gotten a couple caught in my hair brush before and then they turn black and fall off.

Default Hi There

Actually I just read about this in a column by Dr. Gott. He has a daily column in the living section of my local paper. Anyway, he said that rubbing Vick's Vapo-rub on them daily has been known to get rid of them. The women that wrote in about it said that after a bad cold during which she slathered herself with Vick's for a couple of days, she noticed black spots all over her neck (similar to what KismetKate described). When she wiped her neck off... no more skin tags! I had to call and tell my mom about it 'cause she is COVERED with them.

It'd be interesting to see if that actually works... but it kinda reminds me of the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and how he uses Windex for medicinal purposes.

You can clip them yourself if they're not very big. I don't have many, and they're small, but they do come back. I have a pair of toenail clippers that arch OUT instead of in that I use. It's easy and not too painful. I just dip the clippers in some rubbing alcohol, use a cotton ball to clean the area where I'm going to clip off the skin tag and then simply clip it off. Then I put a little antibacterial ointment on it to keep it from scabbing over so it heals well.

I've always had some and my daughter was born with a noticeable one. Like she was born and the first thing I heard was, "don't be alarmed by this noticeable little skin tag." I don't know if that's related, but kinda coicidental.

I have them too, and my mom does as well. I have never had any of them removed, but they are in non-bothersome places and relatively small. I have had several moles that stuck out like skin tags too - those I have had removed and it's doesn't hurt at all really.
