I had one that looked like a pimple but developed into an abnormal growth of capilaries and had to be removed by a dermatologist. It was on my shoulder. I have one or two under one arm and they don't bother me. I had always thought they ran in my family cause my grandmother had a large one on her leg as well as smaller ones and my father has a few on his forehead and face. My father recently had one removed by the freezing method. My father told me its like liquid nitrogin that the dr used and it stung for a second and then the skin tag just died and eventually fell off. I've also had a few shaved off and all the dr did was give me a shot of something locally and then literally shave the tag off, stop the bleeding and send me home. |

I had one removed from my eyelid. She cut it and then used a laser to stop the bleeding. It was not bad. I had to put an antibacterial gel (buy at any drugstore) on my eye for a few days. Unfortunately, it is starting to grow back after about 1 year, but is is very tiny. It was huge before and people would say things about it.
I would encourage you to go and get it removed if it bothers you. I felt better after mine was removed.

He said that all he would really do. Then he said "but if you want to pay me to do it I will . I haven't tried it yet but I did go as far as getting the things to do it. I have a bad case of procrastination. |

It sticks out a bit further than the rest of your skin. They aren't hugely obvious, well at least mine haven't been, but I've been fairly good about keeping on top of them. |

And I read on this website, besides going to the doctor or tying string around them we can try use purell hand sanitizer! Interesting, wonder if it would work: http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-skin-tags.html
WOW if you go to yahoo and search in images for skin tags there's one that looks like the siz of a lemon on someone... its so disturbing I think I'm going to have nightmares about it tonight is that even possible for ours to become like that? eek I'm traumatized |

Points: 391.09 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 391.09 | In the first time in 8 years I actually feel like my PCOS is under control. It's still early but time will tell. But with that thought it is encouraging to try and relieve some of the symptoms. So I have been to my family doctor (not the one treating me for PCOS) and asked him what to do about the skin tags. I thought he would cut or string them off after all that I have read.
I was suprised when he told me they were basically the same as a wart, and as such he would treat them as warts. That was the first time I heard them associated to warts. He told me that he would use liquid nitrogen on them. This would turn them black and they would fall off. Well me being the wuss asked if it would hurt and he replied it depends on the person. So I went for it anyhow. It didn't hurt, it was quick and that was yesterday. He said I should return in a month if they were not all gone. They immediately turned black (which makes them more noticeable) - but have not fallen off yet.
I will update if this actually works. |
