I have skin tags, funny thing is, is that I only got them after I had my daughter, before that I never had them, but I got the skin doctor to burn them off, just cause I didn't like them..not for medical reasons.

Ugh. I have them and hate them. One on an eye lid and one on my chin. I've cut them off before but they've come back after a couple of months. It's not too painful but it did bleed some.

I have a couple on my face. My dermatologist was able to remove them rather easily and w/o pain right in her office

Used to get the ALL THE TIME. I'd have at least two under my arm. Occassionally i'd accidently nick them with my razor and they'd fall off (ouch) but after I got pregnant with ds they stopped sprouting and I haven't had one since. Wierd huh?

My mother gets them too and hacks them off (the loon) but i never had the guts to do that. I think they fall off eventually and unless they're somewhere they catch and hurt I wouldn't bother (neck catching on collar, oww)

An update...

It has been a week and most have fallen off. They didn't bleed. All that is left is a dark spot on the skin, I am hoping that will fade and will not be a scar.

I will go back in a couple of weeks as directed by the doctor to have whatever is left (you can tell as they did not turn black)"re-touched".

The only thing I didn't like about this is that they did turn black, and the ones that hadn't been very noticeable...were now very. And since it almost took a week to fall off, I was running out of high collar shirts.

Although the long term outcome has yet to be seen...so far I would do it anytime I need it done.

I get them too, mostly in my armpits and where my underwire in my bra rubs. My DH removes them for me (he is in medical field).

I've removed some of them myself before. But the last one got infected. Not nice. So now I have one left and I'm too chicken to remove it. hahaha.

I'm going next Wednesday to my doctor to get two removed. She charges 20 bucks per each one... But I have two that are growing bigger and are catching on my clothes (they are both on my neck).

I'm scared it will hurt... But I know I don't have the guts to cut them off or tie a string around them.

I googled skin tags adn they said to try and use tea tree oil... But it could take a couple of weeks. So I decided to head to the doctors :S

I have them on my neck, armpits and under my breast area...I really want them removed because the ones on my armpits and breast area always get so irritated with wearing a bra...do you guys recommend removal...does it hurt?

Default Skin Tag Removal

Hey Ladies;

In all my research i found a few methods for getting rid of pesky skin tags. Being that I live a busy schedule - I don't necessarily have time to go into the doctor. So I used myself as a guinea pig for the home remedies on the internet. (Hopefully this saves the rest of you some trial and error) Some forums say to tie string or hair around the skin tag, cut off circulation and then remove it. I don't knoww about the rest of you gals but the things are in near impossible to reach places and rather than ask my poor husband to tie strings around dangly bits of skin in my nether regions (Can we have no dignity???lol) I've found the following process to work best:

1. Freeze skin tag with freezing compound. (Any compound used to treat common warts will do. The freezing stings.. and if it's in a tender area like on your thigh it may sting for a few hours.. but its not bad compared to trying to cut the tag of without freezing.)

2. The next day a sharp pair of nail clippers or scissors can be used to cut the tag off. Because you froze it the day before it will no longer hurt.

3. The tag will bleed - so get those little spot bandaids handy. Dab on some polysporin to stop it from getting infected.

4. The next day I dab on some pure vitamin e (from a vitamin e caplet) This speeds the healing process and heals the area waaaaaaay faster! (put on once a day.)

Good luck!

I too have skin tags, (and one on my eyelid--who knew that was a common spot?!?!!) but I have one question!!

I see some people are saying that they come back, has anyone had better success with this? Has anyone had them removed and then they never came back (1+ years without reoccurance)? If so, what method did you use?

Perhaps some methods are better than others!
