Hi
Does anyone else get loads of skin tags? I'm not sure if this is a PCOS related problem but I'm finding them cropping up everywhere!
Annoying lil things, especially when they get caught in clothing!

Hi Goodfairy, yes the skin tags can be a pcos thing, but many people also get them without having pcos. If the skin tags are causing interference with your life (clothing, movement) you can get them snipped off at the dermatologist and insurance usually will pay for this treatment. Just see your primary dr. for a referral. I've had small tags removed from armpit and neck and it didn't hurt, but everyone's different I realize. For large ones, they can use lidocaine first if you are worried. Good luck!

I have skintags but only around the base of my neck. I've had a few snipped, but they aren't a big deal.

My mother used to just tie a thread around the base of the skin tag and wait for it to dry up and fall off. Not that I'm advocating doing that instead of going to a medical doctor to have them removed... I have them mostly under my arms. They don't bother me much, but can make it difficult to shave those areas. But that's not annoying enough yet to make me go to a doctor to have them removed.

I have them also. I have a large one on my shoulder that I'm afraid to snip myself, but I've had several on my face and around my eyes that were small. I snipped those myself without any bleeding or anything. They didn't hurt when I snipped them. I just sterilized a pair of nail clippers.

I have several skin tags all around and one particularly large one on the back of my leg which at some stage I am going to have to have removed as it is becoming a nuisance.

I had a few on the back of my neck, and in my armpit removed. I get them every year or so on my eyelids and below the eyes.I have had the ones from my eye area removed three or four times, they used a numbing gel on the part below the eye, but the eyelids were done without anesthesia. I have an extremely high tolerance for pain.
The ones around the eyes are quite numerous, some were large enough to impede vision, and they bled. mainly becasue the skin had to be excised as well.

i've often thought about just snipping off a few small skin tags, but was never quite sure if they would bleed or be painful.... seems like the answer is no. which is definitely good to know

I get them too but only in the armpit area. I snipped one myself because I caught it shaving and it was only there by a little piece of skin so I got nail clippers dipped them in alcohol and got it. It didn't hurt at all. I have a bigger one now and I'm too afraid to do it myself. It isn't as small as the other one.

I simply hate skin tags, they are so annoying....but i have discovered how to remove them. All you do is take a piece of string tie it around it so you cut the blood flow off to it and about 3 to 4 days it falls off and it's gone....It will turn purple or pink which isn't pretty but in the end it's amazing results.

Thanks for the tips on skin tags - I thought maybe I was the only one getting so many of them! I have a few on my neck and armpit areas, mostly where my bra rubs. I have noticed that I am getting more on my eye lids and am not sure how or what to do with those.

I never knew skin tags were a symptoms of PCOS. I get them on my elbow from time to time and I could never figure out why. Now I know.
