Default Skin tags caused by shaving?

I have a horrendous bikini line which i've been shaving for years. As i've got older and my PCOS worse, it has got worse. I have noticed what look like skin tags on my bikini line now that look pretty horrid. They are small mounds of skin that bleed like crazy if I pick them so i've stopped doing this. Does anyone else have this and have you had any luck getting rid of them? I was thiking exfoliation?? Also, how do other people deal with their bikini lines? I can't wax it becasue it has to grow back before I can...not pleasant. I get infected pores, ingrowing hairs and shaving rash shaving or waxing too. Any cures for this? I've only noticed the skin tags since I used an alcohol-based shaving bump solution called "Bump", so I thought this might have caused them and they therefore might stop as I stopped using it - have they got worse for anyone else? All help appreciated!
Thanks, Claire x

are skin tags the little what I call twists of skin? like a tiny flap ?

I have these but I don`t know if they are tags....but I don`t have them only where I remove hair ...in fact I try to avoid them because they still look like normal skin and I fear cutting them in case they bleed too much. So I don`t know if shaving causes them or not. Maybe others have a different story.

I find tea tree helps calm rash.

Have read somewhere there is no treatment but that you can have them removed if they cause a problem??

I had a few skin tags removed by my general practioner a couple of years ago. He froze them off. I had no side affects and plan to have a couple more removed.

Hope this helps some!

Ok, skin tags aren't cause by shaving. They can be pretty much anywhere. Guys have them in places that they don't shave. I have them in places that I don't shave.

The only way that I know of to get rid of them is to go to a doctor and have them removed. They can freeze them or they will cut them off. I would rather just leave them be. I know they aren't attractive, but I'm not being snipped all over. Best of luck.

As stated before, skin tags aren't caused by shaving & you can remove them ( dermatologist ) by freezing or cutting. They are contagious (not to others) & that is why you'll find so many in the folds of your skin. I also believe that they're probably hereditary. I have them & so does my husband & most people in our family do too. A friend of mine had them removed, but they came back about 3 years later. I also have small, raised, flat brown spots, (kinda like moles or beauty marks). The dermatologist said these both belong to the wart family. ? Hope this helps.

Default Skin tags are a PCOS symptom!

That's why so many of us have them.

I had one that cropped up on my EYELID of all places, out of the blue. I went to my Dr's office and one treatment of liquid nitrogen and it dried up and was gone was no scarring...you can't even tell it was there.

i have a few skin tags, but not that many so i wonder if mine are related to heredity or the PCOS as my sister has some too and does not have PCOS. i have one on the inside of my thigh that i think looks pretty wild, like a secret birth mark you'd only know about if you've been down there..lol i have a couple under my arms and a few small ones on the side of my neck.

i don't recommend doing this and i won't take responsibility if you do, but i had a few on my neck a few years ago. i had begun subconciously playing with them, twisting them and rolling them back and forth (they hurt a little bit doing this but it was like playing with your hair when you're bored). they eventually broke off and they haven't come back. i haven't done that with the ones in my armpits because i'd just look plain silly with my arm in the air playing the skin in my pit...lol

I think they can be hereditary as well as a PCOS symptom. Both of my parents have them as well as my grandmother. My one brother has them but my other one doesn't. I have quite a few of them. I think between my parents and the PCOS... I am just glad I don't have a lot more than what I do.

Default Another Option

To get rid of them you can also take some floss and put it around the ( put it so that you can like tie it, so when it comes together it just pops off) It will go blue black and then fall off and never grow back.

If you cut them off they will just grow back. MOst of them will appear where you sweat.

I got this info from my doctor, and it works!!!

I didn't quite understand, forgive me. Do you have to tie the floss to them and leave it there for a period of time? Or do you kinda pull them off in a cutting way using floss?

Default Those nasty Skin tags

Yeh, now that I look, I did not explain that very well.

ok, what you do is - Tie around it with dental floss so that it is fairly tight (not bothersome) and then leave it there for a couple days. It then turn black because it dies , and then it will just fall off. This is what my doctor said as a alternative to getting them done professionly which costs. And it works. Some people just cut ot off with razors etc, but they dont die and grow back.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have anything to ask

Have you done it before? Was it painful? I somehow got one of the hairs from my head wrapped around a skin tag in my pit. I didn't know it was there, but a few days later, it was so sore that I couldn't put my arm down. The skin tag was blue and painful to touch, even to get the hair off.
