I'm leaving on a vacation with my extended family for the next three days. I had been tolerating the metformin really well; but, the last 7-10 days it is making me sick again. I've been waking up rather early and then I feel/am sick to my stomach for at least three hours everyday.
Part of the problem is that I am sharing a room with 4 other people to cut down on the price. I don't want to be having lovely "met attacks" while everyone is in the same room of the motel!
To boot, I started AF yesterday. Normally that would be great. However, it appears to be very heavy.
How bad is it for me to skip met for 3-4 days? What is it going to do?
When I left mine for a few days I felt fine. Only when I left it over 2 weeks I got VERY bad mood swings and got bad sickness going back on Met again but I'm sure a few days won't make too much difference.
I hope you have a nice time. x

Personally, I'd say to take it anyway, just headoff the attacks w/ an immodium. I stopped mine when we went to Vegas for a week, and it was as bad going back on it as it had been at the beginning. Just my 2 cents!
I don't think it's a good idea to just stop taking it cold turkey. Especially if you are taking a high dose. It may dramatically change your blood sugar level. You may be asking for more problems, then you'd have with just taking the Met. And like others said, you might have just as hard of a time starting the Met again, as you did at the very beginning. I think you should just take it anyway. At the very least if you do decide to stop, I'd confirm with your doc that it's ok. Good luck. Enjoy your trip.

Well, I did decide to go without it. It probably wasn't the best decision--but oh well. I had an excellent vacation and I hope that I didn't make things go too out of wack!
