It could be adrenal fatigue. You don't have enough energy to stay awake, but also don't have enough energy to get good sleep (yes, you need energy to sleep). The adrenals secrete hormones to wake you up when you are rested, but they also secrete hormones to put you into a nice deep sleep, so you feel awake and refreshed when you wake up.
Adrenal exhaustion is relatively common. It is caused by stress, and women who have PCOS are under more stress than most people.
It might be sleep apnea, too, so it is good that they will check for that.

Oh my gosh! I thought it was just me. My family and friends make fun of me because I'm always tired and I sleep all the time. I get up and go to work every day, but it's hard to stay awake the whole time. I could sleep for days on end I think. Let me know what the doctor's say. I've mentioned it to my doctor and he said it didn't have anything to do with PCOS
same here!!! im like that!!!! YESSSS im glad im not the only one....i swear ill wake up just to go to back to sleep...that happend to me today...i woke up at like 8am then went back to sleep at 10am...i have absolutely NO enegry whatsoever..it feels like im just dragging on thru the day
i got tested for sleep apnea and they said i have mild sleep apnea nothing extreme and i dont need to use a cpap machine..other than that they didnt do anything about my sleeping *sigh*
but ya keep us posted!! hope everything goes well

I am the same way. I can go to bed at 6pm and sleep until noon the next day and still wake up feeling tired. Everyday, I get so tired around the same time, and I just want to shut my eyes and sleep but I can not because I have to get my daughters off the school buses at 3:30 and then again at 4:00. Then I need to make supper for them and hubby. It really stinks being this tired all the time. I believe my thyroid has been tested too and It came back normal. I will have to double check that info though when I go back next week.
