I wanted to start a thread for motivation, support, and inspiration for those doing or thinking about doing Slim in 6 or Power 90. I will start by telling you all a little about me. My name is Angela and I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 and then again at 21. I hadn't had too much of a problem with my weight at that time. But, when I turned 26 I gained a lot of weight extremely fast (this seems to be common with PCOS) I easily gained 60 lbs in the next 2 years. I tried many things like we all have and nothing seemed to work. I stayed overweight (actually I was morbidly obese according to my bmi and my body fat was 47%) for the next several years. I was turning 32 and I had had enough! I was sick of being fat. I commited to Slim in 6 and that's what worked for me. I exercised 6 days a week and changed the way I ate and I started to lose weight! I was so happy! I am now down 50 lbs and want to lose 10 more. I believe in Slim in 6 so much I really want to help those who are doing it or thinking about doing it. I want others who have had success using Slim in 6 to help motivate as well! Please check out my before and now pictures by clicking here!!! Yes, that is ME on the top of the page. My coaching name is aFITme.
Thank you for reading my story and I can't wait to hear yours!!! Slim in 6 rocks!!!!
Come on Slim in 6'rs!!!!
Keep pushing play!!!!!!
Angela

I've read several of your posts throughout this site and I have to tell you, I can't stop staring at your before and after photos. You look amazing.
I guess I relate to you since your before picture looks an awful lot like me right now, and your after pic is what I looked like in high school (but without those fab abs) and what I WANT to look like now. (I'm only 29 and I feel and look like an old lady!) I've tried everything to lose weight, including attempting Power90 and Slim in 6, but that was all before I was on met. I've been on met now for about 6 months, and just last week was bumped up to 2000 mg. So far I've seen no weigh loss with met, even though I've been careful about what I eat and I've been working out for months during my lunch break at the gym in my office building. I really liked both the Slim and 6 and Power 90 programs, but just never got through them. But now that I'm at this level of the medication, and after seeing your pictures, I re-started the Slim in 6 program this morning with a firm commitment to see it through this time.
So, if you don't mind, I have a few questions for you: Are you on any medication to treat your PCOS, and are you insulin resistant? (I am.) You mentioned that you changed your diet--what specifically do you eat? Low carb? I have trouble sticking to a low-carb diet because I suddenly lose all creativity and wind up eating the same things over and over, which I hate. I'd be interested to know what type of diet got you those incredible results.
And did you do the ab routine every day, or what? Because man, your stomach looks great!
Well, I can tell from your posts that you are very excited about your transformation, which you should be, and so I wanted to let you know that I share your excitement and feel inspired by you. And any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!
Drew

Thank you for all the kind words!!! And I am so happy you are pushing play again! I WILL be commited to keeping you inspired and motivated to keep you pushing that play button. To answer your questions: I actually didn't do any extra ab work, in a 12 wwk period I did slim and six pack three times. So my abs are just from the regular Slin in 6 routine.
I am not on any medication for PCOS. I am insulin resistant. I haven't been tested again since the weight loss.
My diet was low fat and healthy carbs, meaning, I didn't go "low carb" per say, but I ate only whole grains and no processed grains. So, I ate no white bread, no white rice etc. I stuck to whole wheat bread, brown rice etc. And no sweets. I made sure I ate every 3 hours. I drank lots of water. I never ate less than 3 hours before bed. I always keep almonds with me where ever I go so if I get hungry I pop in a handful of almonds and it keeps me from those impulse fast food hunger runs.
I will be working out today at 8:30 PM CT if you need a workout buddy!
I hope this helps!!!! I am so happy you are recommited! I know together THIS will be the time!

Thanks for the advice. I LOVE almonds, so that's a great idea for snacking. I'm pretty good about bringing my lunch and having healthy snacks on hand, but it just gets so tiring eating the same things over and over. My main problem is that I don't really care for (white meat) chicken, and I'm no good at preparing fish, which I love. So I'm constantly struggling to find low-fat entrees. But for now I'm going to concentrate on making sure I work out every day, and I'll just keep an eye on what I eat until I can manage doing both diet and exercize. My eating habits aren't really that bad (which is why everyone is always so puzzled by my weight.)
I actually did SIU this morning, but was feeling really bad and didn't really put much effort into it, so I'm planning to try it again when I get home. Do you normally work out in the evenings? I guess with kids that may be the only time you have a chance to.
My boyfriend and I made the commitment together last night, but I already know that I would love your help to keep us both on track. I'll be checking in with you when I need a kick in the pants.
Thanks again!
Drew

Thanks for sharing your story. It is such an inspiration! I came across it on the message board for slim in six. I started slim in six on August 30 and I'm on my 4th week. Haven't had any major weight loss. I'm 5'1" and weigh about 142. I did drop down last year to about 135. I want to get down to 125. I do plan to do the slim in six for 12 weeks. I'm also following a low carb.
Do you take the slimming formula during your 12 week?
Oh, and I will be working out around 7:30 PM tonight.
You look so awesome, Angela! You are such a great motivator!
I started Burn It Up this week and it's kicking my butt! I'm still sticking with it though. The weight is slowly coming off, but fast enough to keep me motivated. I'm now going to be eating even healthier, got an indoor grill yesterday. Yay!
Keep pushing play!

Hun, if you're sweating, it's working. I've learned that with my past aerobic lifestyle. I'm not necessarily doing this in the "six weeks" that they advertise because I was really really out of shape when I bought this program. (Like, bending down to pick up something and out of breath type of out of shape!) So I am taking it at my own pace, but still six times a week. I started this program the beginning of August. So I'm on my 8th week, 1st week starting Burn It Up.
Keep it up cyster! Keep pushing play!!!

I will be working out tonight probably around 7:30 PM. and doing Friday and Saturday workout in the morning. I'm planning my birthday party for Saturday (my birthday is Sunday). I understand Angela about planning a party. I'm turning the big 30 and I know I'm going to get off my low carb diet on Saturday for cake and drinks.
I was diagnosed in May with PCOS. It seems like its been a long road since then reading up on it, trying to understand how and why my body is doing the things its doing and what I can do to ensure my future health to the best of my ability. My doctor put me on Metformin (1000 mg) and I also found out I'm hypothyroid, so I'm taking Synthroid as well. They're still adjusting that at the moment. I've been overweight since I was a teenager, but was a very skinny child. Of course, at various times and for various reasons I lost varying amounts of weight.
Right now I'm bigger than I've ever been and it is making me very unhappy about myself. I'm 35 years old, 5'3" and I weigh 213 (and I've lost a few pounds since going on Met!). Now that I'm through feeling sorry for myself I'm ready to get down to business. That includes losing a lot of weight. I'd like to get back to a weight I'm comfortable at. Right now I think that will be in the 130 lb range, but that might change as I lose weight.
I bought the Slim in 6 videos because I saw some good references for them here on the site and then happened to see the infomercial. I'd really like to be a success story. I did work out with them a few times when I first ordered them and it felt really good, but I was still learning how to deal with my new diagnosis and feeling overwhelmed, so I guess I wasn't ready.
Everyone here is so revved up about Slim in 6 I'm going to recommit to it. No one but me can do this after all! I'll be checking in with you periodically for a recharge on encouragement and enthusiasm and probably some tips !!!!
Wish me luck!

Well, since there's no time like the present, I thought I would start tonight. I'll probably do it about 8:00 p.m. I remember when I did it before the lunges were very hard for me (kind of hurt my knees a little). Any suggestions?
