Question Smoking

Currently I am trying to quit smoking. After I found out what chemicals were in them and how it affects fertility I just had to put it down. I am not a social smoker I am specifically a controlled smoker. I am controlled by the habit and the nicotine. I hate the way it smells and tastes and how my non-smoking boyfriend reacts to it. I am desperatly looking for different ways to overcome my addiction and become a healthier and better smelling person. So far I haven't had any real trouble other than the usual problems of talking on the phone and driving. So if there is anyone out there that has had to face this same problem, please any advise will be wonderful. I am already using the commit lozenges and so far it is working. Can anyone help?

I know exactly what you are going through. I'm actually pregnant and still having troubles quitting. I thought it would be so easy if I was pregnant. But it isn't. There is this support website that I know helped alot of people. http://www.quitnet.com/

I hope that helps some! And good luck!!!

I used nicotine patches and kept them on 24-7 for the first few weeks. I didn't cheat one time. I knew I was serious when I didn't cheat! You need alot of support. My husband was not allowed to even say cigarette for the first few weeks. I still haven't sat on my back patio(whereI used to smoke) Just make your mind up and keep reading what could happen to you and it will be worth it. Also, thinking about my son growing up and seeing me smoke, I didn't want to influence him to live an unhealthy lifestyle.

God Bless!
You can do it!

I quit just a couple months ago and I had my gum and Jolly Ranchers, but the thing that got me through the most (and I can't remember where I got this) was a quote:

'The urge will pass whether you smoke or not'

And also remembering that the cravings only last five minutes or so (if you're not thinking about it constantly, that is lol)

If you need anything, feel free to PM me!! I know exactly what you're going through!
