These recipies are from a book called 40-30-30 Fat Burning Nutrition by Joyce & Gene Daoust (it's the Zone diet made easier). They are perfectly balanced for 40-30-30 nutrition (that is 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat).
Strawberry Smoothie
1 2/3 Cups fresh or frozen strawberries
3/4 Cup water
20 gms Whey protein powder
2 Tbsp Granulated Fructose (I use 1-2 packets of Equal)
2 1/3 Tbsp sliced raw almonds
Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
OJ Smoothie
Substitute strawberries for 1/2 Cup OJ and 1 fresh orange, peeled
Everything else is the same.
Blueberry Smoothie
Substitute strawberries for 1 1/2 Cups frozen blueberries
Peach Smoothie
Substitute strawberries for 1 3/4 Cups fresh or frozen peaches (not canned--too much sugar)
I like the vanilla protein powder for these.
Yum. I can't wait for breakfast now.

I got this recipe out of a book for a diet that I am about to go on....it is called a fruit frappe....and it tastes pretty good....
8oz of smile milk-or-plain nonfat yogurt-or-fruited nonfat yogurt with artificial sweetener
1 1/4 cups of fresh strawberries or small pear or orange or apple or peach or 1/2 a banana or 3/4 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries....I like the frozen fruits for this one. Just remember one of the fruits...not one of each....lol
ground cinnamon
I put the ingredients in a blender....on high speed until it gets kinda frothy....(says at least 30 seconds for the recipe).
Serve in a glass with crushed ice if desired and sprinkle with cinnamon.
I love this...the about recipe makes 2 servings per the recipe.
The book I got the recipe from is call.... "THE G-INDEX DIET" by
Richard Podell and William Proctor
Torani makes root beer syrup, but I think it's probably pretty sugary (I've never checked.) You can try it for indulgence on the root beer experiment. My family uses it in seltzer to make our own root beer. I can't have it anymore b/c I can't have carbonation b/c of my braces. (Grrrrr...but that goes in the rant section.)

When I was younger people used to tell me I had the body of a dancer. Well, I don't anymore. I have the body of a goddess.
I've been making these for breakfast quite frequently. I split it with my DH and we each have a hardboiled egg to go with for the protein... It's our adaptation of a recipe from a cookbook by the UK Naked Chef (Jamie Oliver)...
1/2 large container plain yogurt
1-2 bananas (depending on size)
1-1.5 cup seasonal berries (we have lovely raspberries and blackberries right now!)
Half a tray of ice cubes
Blend until all the ingredients are mixed together and the whole thing is kinda smooth. It's really tasty.
