Question So am I PCOS or what?? Frustrated and confused.

We had our first RE visit June 17th and the RE also thought I might have PCOS (I've suspected) but there were a few tests I hadn't had yet so he took some more bloodwork. He also did an u/s and my ovaries are polysystic.

I'm 99% sure they said they would call me with those results....but they never did so I finally called and they said they like for us to call them. ?? Anyway- they said everything was normal. Those were the other tests he ran to confirm if I had PCOS or not.

Now I'm not sure what to think...maybe I really am okay (except for the polycystic ovaries)?? Maybe it is just DH (no active swimmers in last SA)? I'm not sure what to think...on one hand I should be glad that everything's okay with me so far. On the other hand I'm just confused. Okay- so if I really DON'T have PCOS but I still have the little cysts on my ovaries what does that mean? Should I still be taking metformin? He wanted to see how I did on Metformin for at least a month...but it's only like 500 mg so would it even do any good?

I just don't know about this....I'm kinda surprised. Guess I just need to focus on DH and what's wrong with his guys? :shrug

On second thought....what does endo feel like? Now I'm really worried it's something MORE than PCOS! I have been dealing with some pain in my middle/ovary area these last couple/few months (and a couple other isolated times) on and off. Lately it's been a dull achy-ness (sp?) pretty much all the time (sometimes more than that but not so frequent). ARGH. I just don't know! I wonder if he'll want to do a LAP now? argh...what's wrong with me????

millie calm down for one!

two, just because blood results are 'normal' doesn't mean that you are. You have to understand that lab's don't all have the same 'range results' to call 'normal'.........sometimes they rangers arn't even right.

There is a sticky in the whats on your mind forum........look throught it for the lab ranges

just calm down....take a deep breath...you more then likely have pcos....you need to find an re who knows about pcos, and is well versed in pcos....other wise you end up living in limbo.....if ya ever just need to chatter i'm on yahoo!

Ok... Been there, done that!!!!

Find another doctor, one who is knowledgeable about PCOS.

The first time I got tested, I was told that everything was normal... my blood tests were normal, my u/s was normal....

I made an appt straight away with an OBGYN who specialises in fertility.... I took him the blood results and the u/s.... he just laughed. the blood results, while "normal" if your looking at everything seperatly were NOT normal if you know anything about PCOS and showed classic signs. My u/s, which was also "normal" showed cysts and classic signs of PCOS.....

Get yourself another doctor... thats all I can say.....
