Default So Confused!!

Okay, I went to an endo last week because another doctor told me my thyroid was enlarged. My endo agreed, and did a test for my TSH. I just got the results, and he says I am mildly hypothyroid. But, my test gave back three numbers, and I don't know which to use to get a comparison.

They injected me with a hormone, and took blood samples at timed intervals afterwards. Before they injected the hormone, my TSH was 2.13. Fifteen minutes afterwards it was 25.30, and 30 minutes after it was 23.88. I keep reading that the normal range is .3 to 3.04, so my TSH before the test appears normal. But those numbers after? Is that considered MILDLY hypothyroid? I'm totally baffled. Oh, and my T4 is 1.1. I know I've seen normal ranges on that but I can't find them now.

I've been looking for some information on this test he did, but all I keep finding is that same normal range, which means nothing to me unless I know which number to plug into it. Can anyone make sense of this? I was hoping to figure this out on my own before I called him and asked him to explain. (I don't like him that much.) I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks!

uhhhhh injections??? i imagine it would be a trh test..but most drs test the tsh, free t3 and free t4 for dx'ing.

actually most drs only test the tsh and those arent the good ones lol

please go to www.thryoid.about.com and post your test results there...there are some amazingly smart women on the boards there when it comes to thryoid disorders. and plese call and at least get copies of the blood results. if they say no... its against the law fyi. goodl uck xo jenn
