Hi all
im happy a friend of mine referred me to here cause i feel really depressed and lost with my diagnosis
i don't have PCOS symptoms thats why i was totally shocked with the diagnosis .. i have been to two doctors who said the same to me
i have been ttc #1 for 8 months and this is the 9 month with no luck and within the first two months when i went to obgyne doctors they didn't see anything abnormal and let me carry on on ttc process
plz tell me can i have PCOS with the following :
1)No MENSTURAL IRREGULARITIES i have period every month i never missed a period and if my period is late its not late for more than 2 days
2) OVULATION OCCURED LAST MONTH ON CD 18 WHEN I WAS MONITORING MYSELF IN A 31 CYCLE LENGTH
3) LH:FSH ratio is normal 1:1
4) prolactin and thyroid is normal
5) i have only 1 hair on my chin!
6) im fat on my waistline but i was always like this its not new thing
the doctor px metformin for me 1500 mg without testing me for IR or androgens.. both doctors diagnosed me only for cysts appearence on ultrasound
couldn't i just have the cysts without the syndrome?
and is this considered mild case of PCOS since i have no irregularities and the only problem is infertility?
plz girls help if anyone have the same problem share it with me im so in need for information and others experiances
I feel your pain. I just got back from the dr. and feel depressed and confused as well. I was told Tues that most likely I had PCOS and that already swung me for a loop because like you, I did not see myself in the symptoms. but today in my blood tests I had none of the signs of PCOS. I asked him the exact same question (could I just have cysts without the syndrome?) since all of my tests came back normal. I am thin, no hair problems, no high blood pressure...almost nothing. He didn't really answer me directly but in my case, said I could just have cysts, but he wants to do more tests because my ovaries are larger than normal. There seems to not be a good diagnosis for someone with cysts, but no other symptoms. I'm sorry I can not help you out more, but I just wanted you to know you are not alone...
It all depends on the number of cysts, I think more than 8 classifies pcos? Not sure though, you can also have pcos with no cysts. If you are ovulating I'm not sure why doc would put you on metformin?? Most normal people (without pcos) usually take up to a year to concieve so just keep trying! Has your husbands sperm been tested? That could be an issue too.
kippy so is your period regular? i have 31 cd everymonth and never missed a period! stress can delay period one day or two thats not a big problem! beside my doctor judged me from only looking by ultrasound neglecting all the other symptoms that i don't have! i think its easier for them to judge by pcos!
i ovulate but im not sure if im ovulating everymonth .. i started OPK on march and ovulated that month i didn't not ovulate on april and this is my third month with the metformin.. so what did ur doctor suggest?
zoesmom thank u ! my husband spermies has been tested and he is fine, we are timing intercourse on ovulation days since month number 1 and this is month number 9 and nothing is happening at all! thats why i needed to consult with myself! im not sure how many cysts i have but when i meet the doctor i will ask him the same qustions again and again until i get it !
My periods have never been exactly regular. I started the 27th last month and just got it again today the 19th. But that was the only symptom I could really say I've had. I am going to another doctor soon and his wife told me it is a common thing for women to have several cysts and they will probably check more to see if I've been ovulating. We are not TTC so I haven't really been keeping track of that. She really assured me though, because of course in my mind I'm thinking I have this syndrome or even worse, cancer or something. I will let you know if I find anything out.
