Default So confused! When to stop NPC while TTC?

First of all, some background...

I'm taking 1500mg metformin RE, 81mg aspirin, and prenatals daily. I took 50mg Clomid CD5-9. I started using OPK's on CD12, but had some trouble with the Dollar Tree tests not working. On CD13, I switched to the Answer brand OPK and got a positive very early on CD14 (at midnight.) DH and I DTD almost every day from that day through CD17. I started NPC on CD18 thinking that I would have definitely ovulated by then since you're supposed to O 12-24 hours after a positive OPK and it already would have been another 2 days after that. However, on CD19 and 20 I had more EWCM than I'd had the whole rest of the cycle, so I don't know if the OPK was wrong and I O'd later than I thought. If so, I'm concerned that I started the NPC too soon and actually screwed up this cycle.

All that said, I'm due to start AF tomorrow but she won't show up if I'm still taking the NPC. I've been testing every day for the last few days and I'm getting BFN's. How much longer should I take the NPC in the hopes that I just O'd late? If I did actually O on CD19 or 20, then I'm only about 8dpo. But since I was already using the NPC, is there any chance I could still have gotten pregnant then?

I'm so confused and any help would be greatly appreciated!

From what I understand about the npc cream...if you using it to aid in pregnancy you cannot stop until I believe around 13 weeks. But if your not sure wether your pg...then I would wait a few more days (a week would be good) and then test, if negative then stop npc.

What I understand with npc is that you should not use it til you know you have o'd and then not til a few days after that. That's one of the reasons I am hesitant to take progesterone this cycle. I never really had low progesteron so I think I will let Dr. test. I hope you get your answers.

OK, so I have been using NPC for cycles lately, and i works fantastically. However, I started TTC this cycle. I began the NPC on CD 14 like usual (don't know if I defnitely o'd or not). So I don't stop on CD 28 like usual? Not until I know for sure that I'm not PG? I think I got that. What I'm wondering is, should I stop the NPC next cycle? I don't need it to support pregnancy, I only use it for cycle maintenance.....Hmmmmmm.....

I you just want to bring af sown then yes stop using it next cycle. It will bring af down then you can start ttc. I don't plan on using it to support a pg because the you have to continue taking it.

Are you girls charting? If you start using NPC without seeing a clear thermal shift you can actually STOP your body from ovulating...

After O use the NPC for the next 14 days then stop unless you became PG that cycle... If you did conceive, you should keep using it throughout the first trimester or it could cause m/c...

Best wishes & babydust to all!

Dragnfy- That's where I got confused. I've only been using NPC to have regular AF's, not concerned previously with O'ing.....so now I shoul stop? I am charting, but not temps, trying not to get too obsessed about the whole thing. Using body signs.

Use it for 2 weeks after you O & stop if you aren't pg... If AF arrived before the 14 days stop...

HTH

Good luck!

I think actually you're supposed to wait until AFTER you are sure you O to start the NPC/Prometrium b/c otherwise it may suppress ovulation. That's what my RE told me, so I just waited until the temp spiked up and began using it each cycle. The unsuccessful ttc but still O cycles I just used it until AF came (she always did despite NPC or Prometrium) and quit until the next sign of O.
