hi stephanie. i am kind of in the same boat. always off my work with pcos symptoms, (heavy periods, drained, depressed etc). this time, i have been off for 2 months so far and feel no where near to feeling better. my boss phoned me the other day and really upset me, expressing how busy the office is and how there is a staff shortage. i got so upset i had to phone my mum at her work (how sad!) and i was sobbing down the phone to her.
anyway, my advice is to do what i done. i realised i had never REALLY explained this condition to my supervisor. she is the type to read a small article and thinks she knows it all. well thats exactly what had happened. she had read a bad article with the wrong info in it and now doesn't understand what i am going through.
what i decided to do, was write her a letter expalining that i am very worried about my job and feel really bad for being off etc but i also explained exactly how down i am feeling etc. i also attached a list of info regarding pcos for her attention and for the main bosses in the office to read.
i'm not saying it will definitely do good, but at least that will let them see that its an uncontrollable situation and that you are trying to deal with it best you can.
take care. xx
