Unhappy So discouraged.....here we go again

This is so frustrating as I know you all can attest to. I went to an OB/Gyn in Florida several yrs ago and she said based on my symptoms she was pretty sure I had PCOS. She put me on Yasmin and that seemed to help for a couple of years when all of the sudden it's like it lost it's effectiveness or something. I had moved to another state and went to many different doctors for two years trying to find out what was going on. None of them had heard of PCOS and wouldn't even refer me to an endo. Their answer was to diet and excercise more. I am sorry but when you gain 50lbs while not changing anything there is something wrong. I also have a whole laundry list of other symptoms but you all already know them all. I recently moved to Phx and found a doctor that treats PCOS. I went in last week hopeful that finally my two year struggle was coming to an end. She did the exam and said she felt a cyst on my right ovary. I told her my whole saga and she said she was sure that I had hypothyroidism and prolly IR (HUGE family history of IR). I went Tues for ultrasound, 2 hr glucose testing and thyroid testing. During the ultrasound the tech says she doesn't see any cysts! How can a doc feel one but the ultrasound tech not see any? Has that happened to anyone else? I called today to get my blood test results and my sugar and thyroid are in the normal range. I'm so disappointed. Here we go again. It doesn't matter how much I diet and excercise I don't lose anything. I'm so ready to just give up.

I have read that some women with PCOS don't even have cysts on their ovaries. PCOS is a total endocrine disease and the endocrine system can effect so many different functions that its difficult to diagnose, difficult to explain, and everyone with PCOS has a slightly varied experience. I'm with you on the frustration part. Some days I'm okay, but most days I'm so frustrated, depressed and angry I won't even leave my house (except to go to work). I just wish there was more good news and hope out there.
