So having a "pregnancy belly" is a normal thing for us? - updated w/my belly pics
I always found it odd that I have this puffy belly that looks like I am about 7 months pregnant. Even had ppl ask me when I am due! When I lose weight it just doesn't seem to go away either. It goes down a little but not much. I am so sick of having this puffy belly. Mine is really firm, too, like there is actually a baby in there, it isn't squishy. Anyone else struggling with this annoying problem???? And is it common for PCOS'ers?

There is another thread somewhere on here that says green tea is supposed to help get rid of belly fat. I'm being faithful with it right now, so hopefully it will help. But I need to lose weight all over!
I have always had this problem. I've gained about 40 lbs since college so now I need to lose weight all over , but in college I weighed about 160 lbs was in pretty good shape. I worked out regularly and was very muscley on my arms and legs, but still had a big round tummy.
Pinch body fat monitors don't work for me b/c they either measure way too low or way too high depending on where they pinch. Even now at 5'3" and almost 200 lbs they did one of those electrical body fat analysis things on me (you hold it in your hand and it sends an electric signal or something - supposed to be much more accurate than the pinch ones) and it measured my body fat at 23% - I have a lot more muscle than the average woman, but 23% is still clearly not right. I really want to do one of those body fat analyses where you submerse yourself in a tub of water.
hi
i have the big belly problem. But like jashobeam said, mine was due to wheat intollerance - it's gone down a fair bit once i stopped wheat..... still there, though.

Yup i am a classic apple shape to, my doctor told me when i first diagnosed that it is very common with women who have PCOS to have an apple shape (more weight in middle of body) rather then a pear shape body.

Will you guys post if the green tea helps? What type of green tea are you trying? My husband drinks Arizona Green Tea, but I doubt that's what I need.
My belly is big, but so is my butt. Everywhere else looks normal.

I also have the same apple shape. I will say that after I had baby my middle went from large and solid to large and flabby. I would take back solid pegro looking belly any day. When I loose weight thats the last place I loose it, I have no butt or hips, so I look a little miss porportioned. I guess I will try some green tea

I have the pregnant belly look when I have my period because I get so bloated, other than that I'd describe it more like a tyre sitting around my waist/hips. Like most cysters its not the first weight to disappear unless I'm really strict with which carbs I'm eating.

blar - i've got the same thing. a lady on the subway actually offered me her seat! my belly is definitely pudge, not bloat. i look fairly normal-sized head on, but from the side, it's really noticable. it seems to be where all my weight goes. i've actually considered maternity clothes! grrrrrr....
i'm hoping it's pcos related and will get better after i get on some meds.
