Question So heavy on provera

Whenever I take provera to bring on my periods they are so heavy.Does anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking about calling my doc to see if this is normal.

I definitely had that problem when I had to take prometrium. It was the worst! Hang in there, hon, it'll be over soon.

I was worried last time when my period *wasn't* heavy on Provera. Usually it is. I've heard (on this board) that heavy periods on provera is very normal.

OMG! I just finished a round because I hadn't had a period since May and my doctor wanted me to have AF before I started Yasmin. It was the heaviest one I've ever had before. One night I bled through a giant "diaper," my underwear, my pajama pants, and through both sheets! Luckily it didn't get on my mattress and came out of my sheets. Bah.... *shudder*

I dread taking Provera b/c my period is so heavy after I take it. I would go through a super plus tampon in 2 hours! Hang in there!

Question so heavy on provera?

I just took my last Provera night before last and I'm waiting AF now. My doctor warned me that my period would probably be more painful and heavier than before. But he said that this was because of the fact that it's been longer than just the typical one month cycle, not due to the Provera. I was just wondering if, for those of you who had a heavier period after Provera, it had also been a while since you had a period? After his warning and also reading this info here and on another board as well, I'm getting really nervous about how bad this period will be. I wish it would just start so I could get it over with!

Also, what if it doesn't come within the 7-10 days? What's the next step then?

Yes! I just took my first round of Provera and cannot believe how heavy it is!!!! I was so emberrassed yesterday b/c I was out getting the kid's flu shots at their doctor's and I bent forward and all this blood gushed out....it went through the pad and through everything I was wearing. I, luckily, had 2 shirts on and one of them was a jacket type that I could tie around my waist. HORRIBLE!!!!

I am wondering...how long does a period usually last on Provera?

I haven't had a real period probably since May or June.

I took my provera at night it seemed to make me less btchy then when I took it in the morning. However, my cramping and bloating with AF are worse then I remember it but I seem to be bleeding less. I go to the endo tomorrow.

Thank you ladies.....I just took Provera for the first time and I started my period 2 days into taking is (which I guess is pretty abnormal, at least from the post on here)But the first few days were pretty much like my usual period and all the sudden yesterday I started bleeding like crazy. I have never been this bad before. I actually had to call in to work because the bleeding is so overwhelming i have to change my pad every hour because it has soaked through. This morning I woke up to a completely soaked through(every inch of the pad was blood soaked...sorry if TMI) it had soaked through my panties, pjs, sheets and matress pad, and it was one of those gargantuoin pads.

I was so worried it was just me! But now I see its "normal".

Just wondering, did you get AF after a long time or did you get one last month?
