So, how many Tim Hortons are there where you live?
I live in what's known as the doughnut shop capital of the continent. We have more doughnut shops per capita than anywhere else in North America. In a city of about 130000, we have 18 Tim Hortons locations alone. That's not counting the other doughnut shops around town! Actually, we call them coffee shops.
Krispy Kreme never came to town. They sell them at WalMart, but the stores would never have done well here. KK is about the doughnuts (ICK, by the way... too squishy and sweet for me) while Timmys is about the coffee (I don't drink that either). I read that doughnuts account for less than 50% of all Timmys sales. Coffee, sandwiches, bagels... those are the real sellers.

I did a search on Yellowpages.ca for Ottawa and it came up with 107 Tim Hortons!
Yowsa! That's a lot of demand for coffee.
My DH says that owning a Tim Hortons is a license to print money.

Not a Canadian but I dated one for years. He lived in TO and I lived in Niagara Falls, NY. We would meet in Stoney Creek and there is a strip of about a mile, or less, with at least 6-8 donut/coffee shops. I would always laugh about it because in the summer, tons of people were hanging out there in the parking lot. Timmy's is quite the hot spot!
We have quite a few Timmy's in Western NY but usually only 1 or 2 in a whole town, not 1 or 2 per mile
We have 1! And it is sooooooooo SOOOOOO busy! But I still wait for my coffee or tea anyways

In Peterborough (city size of 75,000) we have 12 according to the phone book ... had to look it up because I knew I'd miss at least one. I think we have so many because of having a university and a college ... those students live on the coffee!!
Can honestly say I have never tried their coffee, and probaby won't!
Hmm, I've never really thought of that before. The city that I live in is about 46,000 large. We have three Tim Horton's and in total, probably only about 10 coffee shops. Wow, thats not many, is it?
I'm orignally from a town of 6000, right now we only have one, but they are about to build a new one this spring.
Now I go to University and on campus there are 4! Well, 3 mini ones and then one normal sized one that offers the soups and sandwiches, the other ones only have beverages and doughnuts.
I love Timmy's, I still have yet to win anything on roll up the rim to win this year.
