After reading some of the posts on here about spreading the word, I thought I would help out a little and get the ball rolling I emailed the Tyra Banks show explaining PCOS and what us ladies go through, I hope they really consider making that an episode since it seems Oprah didn't want anything to do with it.
It would be awesome if Tyra at least considered it...

LOL..just letting you know that I emailed Tyra 2 weeks ago..explaining the same thing and that i thought she should do a episode on PCOS............I quess we'll have to wait and see????
It would be really nice of her if she did, I quiet like her shows makes a change from the mormal day time talkshows. Ive actually learnt quiet alot from her..reading that sounds weird! even though her supposed weight loss is a bit concerning seen as she had that big 'so what' campaign..but thats besides the point! hope she does cover the subject in a show, would be good to see what they've researched with regards to PCOS. Maybe we can learn some more on how to deal with it!

Just to think positivley, Tyra seems to cover topics that are unusual from the norm. She tends to focus on body image issues and who wouldnt have more body issues than a PCOS'er!?
I think she will be willing to dedicate an entire show hour to this topic; there is so much to discuss!
I've never watched Tyra but when I was diagnosed, I did email Oprah.
I just don't understand why this is not talked about more, or why more doctors don't test for it. From what my new Gyno said, this is a fairly common and easily treatable. And if caught early enough, prevents bigger problems like diabetes. You would think the media would eat all this up!
I'm sure she loves us (viewers) but there must be hope in other media outlets although she is the voice that people listen too. Someone will hear us soon!
Big bellies and body hair will soon be popular!

I've written so many magazines/shows about PCOS & I keep getting generic responses...I even went so far as to send & re-send e-mails every days for months on end to see if someone could talk about PCOS to no avail. I hope it works for you ladies!!!

I sometimes get the idea that this syndrome does not appeal to mainstream media and people that dont have PCOS or know anyone that suffers from the worst of PCOS symptoms.
If we took a celebrity like Victoria Beckham who allegedly suffers from PCOS, people would say, oh there's nothing wrong with it, those are just a bunch of fat, balding, hairy women without periods complaining that they are not "pretty"....
It would be so great if Tyra got behind the PCOS topic. There is so much to learn about it and so many people that are suffering from it that don't even know whats going with their body. Then theirs people like me that don't exactly know how to combat it. So I'll say a little prayer and maybe she will shed some light on national tv!
Based on the themes of her show, I definitely hope she'd be receptive to this!!! I know she focuses a lot on teen girl's self images especially weight gain and acne (which clearly could be early symptoms of PCOS in general). And wouldn't that be awesome to get treatment early on!!
