Angry So I guess you could say I need some help?

Hey all!

So let me start out with telling ya a bit about me. I am 20 years old, happily married to the man of my dreams for 2 years now
. this is my first post. I found out about 2 years ago that I have PCOS. I'm sure like us all I found out with a very stabbing pain of a ruptured cyst and I thought something was killing me from the inside!!! I feel that this has killed a lot of my dreams. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for around 2 years now, then I found out about this little (not so little) problem.

I use to be a healthy weight. never over 130lbs and then this hits me and my weight increases to 170lb or so with in 2 years. Now that is ridiculous!! I do watch what I eat, and as much as I would like to I just dont have the time to go to a gym or anything like that.

I never get a period, that last one I kind of remember as just a very light menstrual was in march, and the one before that was in December. They have always been irregular but not this bad. With this economy I am resorted to working at fast food and my husband has been laid off of his job, but is able to work around for different people. So needless to say we have no medical insurance. Which means I have no care or medication.

I feel that I am sinking into a depression. I'm frustrated because I want to start a family, because I can lose this weight. I dont like the way I look (like a whale). And some days I just want to cry for no reason. I just dont know what to do.

I don't know what state you are in, but most states have Family Planning Medicaid where you can apply for coverage to see the gynecologist yearly so you can have your check up and talk to her about your problems. The program is suppose to be for birth control, but a lot of people do not use it for that. It will cover your yearly pap smear and exam.

Call the local social services office near you and find out about how to apply, and you might be eligible for a better program (it varies across states). There are a lot of other remedies for pcos that others have tried, and you might want to look at the Alternative Remedies board for some other ideas.

Good luck for trying to find something to work for you. I've only had one epidsode of pain from a cyst over all the years, and it didn't last long, so I hope you don't have it happen again.

Nice to meet you. It is very frustrating. It took us 16mths to conceive our DS and then when he was 9mths old (and I hadn't had a cycle for 3mths) I by a miracle wound up pregnant. We are now not TTC, however Im living with the day to day life of PCOS. I can definetly sympathize with you, we would have never conceived if I hadn't lost weight (I also have hypothyroidism and went on a high med to get leveled out) and MANY tests as well as many rounds of clomid. I am very thankful for the Dr I had at the time, but yes before that and even now ... frustrating

I agree with PP you need to see someone to get checked out further. Good luck!
