Lightbulb SO I told you all about my GREAT laser teratments

I have been telling you all about how I have ABSOLUTELY no redness, swelling, pain, ANYTHING during/after my laser treatments. I was talking to the Doctor last time I was in and she said the pain and redness some of you all complain about was due to the type of lasers used. She said the IPL (?) is the most painful. The type they use is called Sciton at http://www.sciton.com

Really ladies, I am getting great deal $200 per treatment (the best in my area and also Houston) with no pain!

Hope this isn't sounding like a commercial but if you have not started yet, shop around!

I wonder what the difference in pricing is from everyone that has posted on here? Some of us are using the same type of lasers but pay quite different prices. Is it the experience of the person doing it? Different parts of the country?

I pay $125 per treatment using the light sheer one and thats pretty much everywhere...neck, chin, lip area, sideburns. But the people doing aren't dermatolgists. Could that be the difference?

Well, I'd imagine the cost also depends on the number of areas you're having treated. For me, sides of face, chin, jawline, upper lip, and part of neck.. just under $300 CDN per treatment. It's a lightsheer, and I have shopped around. This isn't the cheapest, but the other lasers used at other places I looked into are older and not FDA approved. Though prices for the same laser (lightsheer) are generally higher in the major cities here. I'm getting treated in a suburb.

Talking

It has been a week and 1/2 since my 2nd painless treatment and I have only shaved once (and that was just cause I saw some hairs). I can't believe how much of a difference this is making.

If you are thinking about lasering DO IT- DO IT- DO IT!

Default am i the only one?

Am I the only one who has insurance paying for laser hair removal? I'm awaiting my appointment/haven't had the laser done yet. But when I inquired about laser hair removal to my main doc, she told me that it would be covered since I have a medical condition which in part causes me to have more hair.

Maybe it's a dumb question, but have you cysters who are getting laser work done, checked if this could be a covered service?

Unhappy

Rasp where the heck were you 3 months ago when I was begging someone to help me with my insurance??

I sent in all kinds of paperwork (I have BC/BS of TX) from 3 different doctors and was STILL rejected.

That is so amazing your ins will pay. May I ask how much of it they are paying? It is a travesty that facial hair on women is considered cosmetic. That is such BS!

Anyway, congrats and def keep me updated, I think you will be pleased!

Thinky,

They're covering ALL of it. I don't have to pay a dime. My dh is Navy so our insurance is Tricare Prime. The Navy is starting to pick up a bunch of cosmetic stuff (all though the laser hair removal isn't considered cosmetic in my case, bc of the PCOS). I just had botox done between my eye brows bc of a deep frown line. It's awesome. I can't even frown anymore!!!!! AND>>>>>

If I get down to where my BMI (body mass index) is, I can have boob lift, liposuction & tummy tuck..............FREEEEEEEEE. I'm around 180 lbs right now and I have to get down to around 154-158 lbs before they'll do any plastic surgery.

There are a lot of things that suck about being in the Navy, but this is not one of them.

I'll keep you updated.
