Default So, i've been on Gluc for 5 days now...

I'm still at the one pill per day stage, sunday, I'll move up to two. I have not had any nausea at all, and no emergency bathroom trips (except when I had salad for dinner the other night!) at all, so knock on wood.

What has been happening, is that these pills knock me out! Literally within a half hour of taking my dinner pill, I'm ready to fall asleep... does this happen to anyone else? Does it subside? is it something that I nshould tell my doctor about?

On the good end of things, I havne't felt all that hungry or compulsed to pig out on carbs like I normally do... which makes me think if this is the way it is on one pill... will I ever want to eat again when I get up to 3? No wonder you lose weight!

This is not something I have had experience with...I found I had MORE energy. But any time you have a side effect from a drug you should tell your Dr. about it. The side effects seem to better with time, so if it is directly liked to the drug, it may pass.

Hunger is a body response when it needs nutrients. If you learn the signs of hunger (as opposed to just signs of a craving attack) and feed it healthy, low carb choices your body will get exactly what it needs. Not to worry!

Good Luck on the met- I was a bit sleepy too when I first started it, but it was one of the first side effects to subside. I have been on met for almost two years now and my appetite continues to be much smaller than it ever was before I started it. My total weight loss while on the met (formerly 1500mg, now 2550mg) is 84lbs (and counting )! I hope your "lack of hunger" continues for you as well!

Hang in there!

Tracey,
It sounds like your body is saying, "Hmm, something is different around here. I'm going to take some time to get used to it." Hence the sleepy, not-too-hungry attitude. It'll change a bit as you get accustomed to the met.
I'm glad you're starting gradually. I think it really helps with the side effects.

Aimee--I had no idea you had come so far with your weight loss!! Wow!! Many congrats to you!

hi,

I was sooooo tired when i first started taking Met. I mean i literally felt sick i was so tired. It seemed to have subsided over the last few weeks but i have also been taking Vitamin B-12 which may be helping. Anyways, hope you're feeling better soon
