so irritated with heartland... Heartland in Winnipeg keeps postponing my appointments at the VERY LAST MINUTE, including my lap/hyst! They just did it again yesterday - I got less than 24 hours' notice. So I found out at 11 p.m. yesterday that my appointment for today was cancelled.
This was a ROYAL PAIN, since: a) I had booked a substitute teacher to be in for me that afternoon; b) planning for this sub took almost 2 hours of time, which I had to carve out of a class because I had to cover for another teacher during my prep, plus I had my extracurricular activity to do at lunch, as well as have staff meetings both before and after school; c) I was gone last night on an overnight trip with my band students, so I just about didn't get the message; and d) I had followed said band students in my vehicle Thurs and Fri (250 km's worth of driving, for which I don't get reimbursed by my school) so that I could duck out at noon today to go to my appointment. Oh, and I commute out of town to work, so the drive to the clinic is crazy.
My dh called the clinic and gave them heck. Cancelling at the last moment is fine if it's once or twice. But they are way beyond that, and it is so frustrating. I do not have a regular job for which I can just not go to work. Dh told them that the next time they do this, they have to pay for the cost of the substitute teacher, since they're not giving me enough notice before they cancel. They said, "We don't do that." Dh said, "If we cancelled at the last minute, you'd send us a bill for a missed appointment. This is a two-way street. Besides, you are getting funded in part by our taxpayers' dollars. So we are paying for your services, yet we're not getting services. The next time you need to cancel on my wife, she needs at least a day's notice. Period. The next time this happens, the clinic will be paying for a sub. If you don't, we'll get our politicians involved."
And then, on top of that, I have to wait yet again - for the rescheduled appointment - to find out if I can do my first round of injectables/IUI this summer before I move to Ontario in late July. This is getting pushed back so far that it probably won't happen. And so I'll have to wait another 3 months, until Medicare kicks in for me as a new resident of that province, before I'll get a referral to a new RE.
Argh, sorry for venting, but this is so frustrating.
