Angry So is it PCO or not?

Ok...here's it sitch. I was "told" when that I had PCO when I was 14. I was put on BCP and nothing else was ever done. I mean NOTHING. The endo who told me I had it never even saw me again. So here it is almost 6 years later and I've asked my OBGYN if my having PCO is even in my medical records, and he said no. So he tested me for PCO and IR. That was last monday. I got a call yesterday saying they were putting me on Met.

So I don't understand. Does this mean yes they've finally given me a positive diagnoses...do I have PCO and/or IR? They've taken me off of the BCP and are treating me with the Met alone.

I just don't understand...should I make an appointment to see him and ask him what the heck is going on? I've been in the dark about this for almost 6 years now...I just want to know what is going on with my body.

Definatley!!! Go to the doc and ask him all the questions you need to!

I can't believe they put you on drugs with no explanations........

write what ya wanna ask and say on paper so you don't forget anything, thats what I do...... also maybe take someone with you to your appointment, so you have another set of ears listening, cause all the stuff he has to say could be overwhelming and you may forget. I often take my hubby to my appointments with me. so take someone you trust...

best of luck

Default Advice....from someone who understands..

all to well.....

In my opnion (and take it as just that my opnion) I would get a new DR all the way around...I would not go back to the DR who didnt even document a problem or treatment in my medical records.....

and I would also not go back to a DR who just RXed meds with no explainations at all.....

I was in the same boat until I started seeing my current DR...no one else linked all the problems I was having together until him!!! I mean I walked into his office after the exam he did and he told me that pending a lap procedure he was 99% sure that I had PCOS....

When it comes to PCOS knowledge is power (so to speak) and you really need to have DRS who are on your side and that you can trust

Sorry if this is coming off pushy Im not meaning it too...this is just what I would do and ended up having to do b/c I was not getting the medical care that I should have been

If you do end up going to either of the same DRS I would recommed writing down your questions before you go and taking the list with you....it can only help

Hope to see ya around the boards...and keep us posted
