So thankful Hi ladies,
I just needed somewhere to put my thoughts today....
Dh and I met with the bm today. She had requested to meet dh when he returned from his deployment (Luke was placed with us a week and a half before dh returned). I had met her the day the baby was placed with us. In fact, she handed the baby to me directly and said "Here's your boy".
It was a good meeting and once again, I was struck by what a fantastic and amazing girl the bm is. She was so sweet, interested in how we were coping with a new baby and whether he was good or not. She did hold Luke for a little while and then when it was time for her to go, she got a bit teary eyed. As she handed the baby back to dh, she said to Luke, "I'm going to give you back to your daddy now."
We have a semi open adoption, with all contact thru the agency. She lives in our local town so there is the chance we may run into her in the future, but I don't think it's going to be a problem. She just wanted two parents who love each other and would love her son, giving him what she couldn't. She is just an amazing girl and I am so thankful to her for giving us what we couldn't give ourselves: a family. What a blessing she has given us.
Okay, so now that I am sobbing, I'm gonna run. I just wanted to share.
Merry Christmas to all....it's going to be a merry one here at our house this year!
