Default So what do us 'thin' cysters need to do then?

Hello, I have just found this site and am hoping it answers some of my questions about PCOS and being thin.

I was diagnosed a while ago after ttc with no periods. I fell pregnant with my baby boy on the 2nd cycle of 100mg Clomid, and also had a trigger injection to make me ovulate and proegsterone to stop my period as on my first round, I got my period a few days after ovulation.

Anyway, I am now on Metformin to try to get periods back so that hopefully we wont need Clomid when it comes to ttc for number 2.

I had forgotten all about the PCOS untill recently - very busy and loving my little baby - but I realise now that I need to address it - especially as I have Max to think about it. (I keep reading horror stories about the increased risks of cancer and heart disease etc!)

Im from the UK, and dont know much about the severity of my PCOS - my doctor said my hormone levels looked normal, but I did have a scan that showed the cysts, and didnt have a period for 9 months!

At the moment I ma eating wholegrains etc. but still have sweet stuff daily and get sugar cravings! So I really want to sort my diet out. Im thinking of cutting right back on carbs, and only eating wholegrain when I do eat carbs. Is this what 'thin cysters' should do?
Unfortunatly exercise is out the window at the moment as I am so tired looking after our baby and he is a Mummies boy so cant leave him with my oh while I hit the gym etc. But I do hope to get back to my exercising one day as I do enjoy it!

Does anyone know how many carbs a day we actually need to stay healthy?

Don't know what you should do, but I'd like to know. My sister is a thin cyster and has never been able to conceive.

I am a "fat" cyster...only a few pounds overweight and with diet and exercise have been able to conceive twice.
It does almost seem harder for you guys...

About exercise, are there good parks nearby? If so, you could buy yourself a jogging stroller and walk/jog with your little one. You could also buy a few small free weights at the store so you could do basic free weights exercises at home.

As far as diet goes, I think that in general, eating less refined carbohydrates and more vegetables is a good thing... but I'm still trying to sort out my own diet, so I'm not able to offer much advice. Like you, I get sugar cravings daily and can't kick the habit.
