Default So, what if you're not IR AND you can't take BCPs?

Just out of curiousity.....what do women do if they shouldn't take Metformin/Actos/Avandia because they're either
a) Not Insulin Resistant, or
b) Can't tolerate the side effects of said meds?

I can't take BCPs. Not only did they worsen my condition when I tried them, but now I have high blood pressure. Great! I feel like I've run out of options. I don't give a crap if I menstruate or not, I just want my symptoms under control. I tried Progesterone cream too. That made me feel better for a little while but then it just made things worse in the longrun. ugh!!

Oh and guess what else? My new psychiatrist discharged me because I was too emotional. LOL! Wow...I go there cause I have depression, and he tells me to bugger off because I'm always in a crappy mood. Bravo.

Does it help?

I haven't tried metformin yet because I have Ulcerative Colitis (inflammatory bowel disease). I'm just wondering what women do in the evtn they an't take ither methods treatments.

I don't even care that I can't take hormones. They make me sicker :\
