Well, I got sick and tired of constantly having to shave my 'beard' every day. So, I let it grow out for a couple of days and asked DH to pluck every single course black hair out for me. You've got to love a man who will spend 3 hours plucking black hairs out from his wife's chin. LOL. But, about 600 hairs later my chin is smoother than EVER! Even when I would shave it would still feel prickly. It hurt in the beginning but then I just got used to it and it wasn't really a big deal. I'm going to keep up on the plucking and pray that it will begin to grow back less course and lighter in time.

Just a little warning... I was a major plucker, especially my neck/chin area. I am now scarred from it. I no longer pluck (I did laser).

Do y'all know how wonderful it is to talk to other women who shave too??? I can't begin to tell you how nice it is not to feel alone anymore.
It's great when we can be open about it. That's why I'm so thankful that DH and my kids accept the fact that I have moustache and beard growth just as DH has and that I can shave not just in front of DH but in front of the kids, just like DH does. They don't treat me as a freak because of it. It's just part of who I am.
Yes, it is okay to wax your face. Many salons will do it for you. I called once to make an appointment and the lady was like "well, what do you need waxed?" I said basically my whole face. She said uhhh, put me on hold came back and said okay kind of snotty. I ended up chickening out and not even going. I do shave everyday, but on occasion have plucked my neck/chin area. It takes forever, but looks so much better! Also, I will sometimes epilate my face, if I can be alone to get the hair to grow for a few days. It hurts like hell but I feel so good afterwards.
It's totally ok to wax. I've been doing it for many years. IMO, surgi-wax brazillian is an excellent choice for this. It grabs onto the shortest hairs, so you don't have to let it go for too long. Just be sure to exfoliate very well afterward, to prevent ingrowns. I use Queen Helene facial scrub for this. It's about $2 and you can get it at just about any drugstore. Waxing will definately buy you some time between major hair maintainance. I do a little touch up plucking in between, but it just takes a few minutes a day. I also like that there is no prickly hair or shadow under the skin.
One wet school holidays I had to stay home to babysit my little brothers and went bored silly. So I plucked one of my armpits and had fantastic results.
Unfortunately when I started back at school I didn't have the same amount of time to maintain it. However my epilator does a great job now. They make facial epilators too.

Do you wax at home or do you go somewhere? If you wax from home are there kits? I am sick of plucking and shaving. ick.
I wax at home. I have had it done at the salon before, but it gets pretty pricey to do it all the time. I was living in a small town where a lady did everything (eyebrows, upper lip, chin, and neck) for $15. I moved, and that is the price I paid for just eyebrows here.
I prefer Surgi Wax Brazilian for coarse, dense hair. I do also use the regular surgiwax for more minimal growth, and Caramel Gold cold wax for dense but fine growth. The cold wax is similar to Nads. In my area, these can all be found at Rite Aid or Ulta.
