Default Some advice would be nice!! lol

My first appt with my doc is this coming wed.... Since i'm pretty sure i have PCOS, should I just come right out and say that? And also, after all the research i'v done, I see that clomid and a few other medications and best for PCOS and when you're trying to get pregnant.. Which I am... So If I ask my doctor to put me on clomid..will she?? I'm really nervous...lol.. also one more question... if she does put me on clomid or something to help me start ovulating and all that.... How long does it normally take until i'll get pregnant? and what are the odds?? If anybody could help, I'd be REALLY happy!! lol.... God Bless...+

Default Good luck...

I am not currently trying to conceive but I would like to wish you luck on your Doctors appointment. I was diagnosed in January, and while I probably am not the best person to talk to about your pregnancy efforts, I would be willing to try to answer any other questions you might have, just send me a note and I will try to help. I am currently taking Yasmin and Spironolactone. Neither of these are things that you should take if you want to have a baby, but they are common medicine's for PCOS.

Good luck!!!!

This a fertility doc? If so come out and say it. There is a ton of research showing metformin/clomid combo raising preg chances at least 25%. Gonal-f, HCG, HMG have been known to raise chances up to 60% but carry risk and you should get ultrasound while using Gonal-f (or fostimon the european version) as it could overstimulate. Clomid cycles usually take a minimum of 5 cycles before a doc will move to Gonal-f and the other injectables (except HCG as it's used as a trigger)

See how it goes with the doctor. I'm seeing an ob/gyn that specializes in fertility problems, and he's great. He gave me everything that I was going to ask about, and I didn't have to mention any of it. I had the same ob/gyn for years, and she never treated my problems, and even told me one time that she doesn't like metformin, so she did not give it to me. It's treating my problems now, and I'm so sorry I didn't switch doctors a long time ago.

Good luck with the new doctor. Make a list of questions, so you don't forget anything.
