Off and on for the last year or so I have popped on here to ask questions about the odd things going on in my body. I figured that my symptoms were just PCOS or a fibroid. I had spotting between my periods and very very heavy, clotty periods when they did come. The between period spotting became more and more frequent and I finally went to the doctor. I had two clean pap smears but the fibroid symptoms (heavy, long periods) prompted me to start asking for help. I wanted to confirm a fibroid was my problem so we did an ultrasound and that showed that I had a 3.7 cm fibroid on the top of my uterus. As a precaution the doctor ordered an endometrial biopsy because there are other things that can cause the heavy, odd bleeding. Well my results came back on the 22nd of this month and it was much much more than just a fibroid. I have endometrial cancer. At this point with just the one test that has been run it looks like it is not that bad. But I won't know for sure until my hysterectomy and then the pathology. It could be as simple as just a hysterectomy but as hard as chemo and/or radiation too. As I don't have insurance I am in a bit of a limbo right now with finding a good doctor and of course it is the weekend so I can't do anything right now. I will start back with my phone calls tomorrow and hopefully I can find a good gynecological oncologist near my home. Cysters, if you are experiencing anything odd in what is "normal" for you, please see a doctor as soon as you can. Don't let no insurance stop you either. I found a great, caring, compassionate nurse practitioner at my local free clinic. I don't want to scare any of you, but early detection is key. So like I said... if you have any odd symptoms, talk to your doc! Thank you all cysters for supporting me in the past and I would appreceate any prayers that you could send my way!
God bless you and yours
Deb
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You must have a lot of strength to you, I would probably be an emotional wreck about it. I admire your compassion for us. Thanks for the advice. I really do hope your situation works out and that it all works out for the best. I'll pray for you as well. Stay strong!
((((((((HUGS))))))))) I hope that everything works out in the best way possible for you. Thank you for the reminder to not take "no" for an answer and to listen to our bodies. May I ask how old you are at diagnosis?

Ladies, thank you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I am 39. I thought of y'all because it is presently believed that it is the extra estrogen bombarding the uterus that contributes to this cancer. So obesity and PCOS are very commonly seen with this. I know that we all like to stay informed and on top of things.
I need to be very clear about something, and this is being said in a loving way. Any strength you see in me is not from me, but from my Lord. I should be a total wreck by now. But somehow there is this wonderful peace and sense of purpose that I beleive is from all my friends praying for me.

Im so sorry Deb. Good for you! Staying on top of your health.
You might want to go to your local county hospital because they can hook you up with Dept of Social and Health Services (which would pay for all your treatments and hospital stay). I hope all goes well for you.
