Default Some hair questions...

I need some input on two issues.

1. This PCOS hair thing... hmmm this is all new to me. I am very scandanavian and barely ever even grow leg hair (I could shave every week and a half if I wanted). But over the past year I have grown all of this "peach fuzz" all over my face. Tons of it. I have a few darker hairs here or there-- but not really noticable. The blond peach fuzz is way worse! But the hairs are so short/fine that waxing (though it helps) isn't always that 100% complete. Is there a better method out there for removal? Shaving only leads to stubble. Am I not waxing right (I've been using those self-heating strips)?

2. Sorry if this is to gross... but I have a few thick black coarse hairs that grow out of a beauty mark (ok... a mole) on my cheek. I used to be able to pluck them no problem. But starting a few years ago, the hairs would get ingrown after I plucked them and cause the mole to swell. Yuck... not pretty to say the least. I didn't have any insurance for a while, so everytime this happened I had to go pay the fancy pants dermatologist in my neighborhood anywhere from $150 to $180 to perform "surgery" and remove the offending hair. He told me to get the hairs lasered and not to pluck anymore. But when I met with 2 different esthticians (who do laser hair removal) they both told me they DON'T do laser hair removal on moles? The dermatologist also said that he wouldn't suggest removing it-- as it is more "marilyn monroe" in nature (i.e. attractive when I'm not growing yarn out of it) and that surgery would cause an unsightly scar.
Any advice or thoughts on this Cysters?

Thanks!

Polly

As for the first question, yes you are waxing. I don't think there is any better way really, besides plucking the dark ones.

Maybe you could still pluck the hairs and just keep an ice pack on it for a few minutes for the first couple days? Maybe that'll help with the swelling.

what about electrolysis? I have heard it is best to use on areas with a few hairs, so your mole might be a good candidate. Now I have always heard it is best to have trained medical staff use the lasers for hair removal as the laser could burn and cause scarring. I had laser done on my legs about 4 years ago and it was in a Doctor's office and the staff were all nurses. I have been considering going back to have my face done as I also have the "peach fuzz", but right now am not ready, as my insurance does not cover hair removal.

I'm not sure how well laser hair removal would work because the hair she has is pretty light.

i saw on a tv show they have new lasers that are used for fine light hairs now ... maybe that would be a option for those hairs ... as for the mole ... if it bothered me that much i would just have it removed ... a lil scar wouldnt bother me so much ...
