some questions..very long but please read and help me!!!
I am not yet sure if I have PCOS, but I do have a few of the symptoms and dr. had me do bloodwork the other day. I will also have an HSG to dtermine if my tubes are blocked or not. I know how PCOS is fromed, but can it develop over the course of a couple of months. I am asking this because here is my situation: we have been ttc for one year now and I was charting until last fall. When i charted, i noticed that my cycles ranged from 36-49 days. I belive that I ovulated every cylce due to a rise in temps, but I could never predict when i was going to O based on the fact that I never Ovulated around the same time in any given cycle. I had two cycles in which I think that I ovulated on CD 26, but the rest of the cycles, O was not on or near the same day. I also had varying Luteal phases. Anyway, charting stressed me out too much because I did not think that it was helpful in predicting anything. So therefore, i stopped charting and bought the fertility monitor. I had a couple of cycles in which I got a peak reading on the monitor, but the last one I had 10 days of high readings and no peak day. Which they say indicated that you may not have ovulated. This cycle I had 9 days of high readings and got a peak this am. I am so confused by this. I see TONS of EWCM this morning after I got the peak reading. My question is, does PCOS form over time, are you born with it, or can it just develop over the course of a month or two. It is very confusing becaues I do have some of the symptoms, but I think that I have ovulated in the past due to having the peak readings and having EWCM. But would I have aEWCM regardless of PCOS or not? I also have had very sore boobs after what I belive to be ovulation in past months. However, I never noticed sore boobs beofre charting last spring. Anyone have any insight? Do you have seemingly normal pre and post-ovulation symptoms even with PCOS? Because if not, then I dont think that I have it, but cant explain the symptoms of PCOS that I do have!! UGH!!! HELP ME!!!!
OK, number 1 you can develop PCOS, you can be fine and then one day notice changes etc... and Bam, you have it. Some of us (like me) have had it since the moment we hit puberty some develop it later. Number 2, you can ovulate with PCOS, not everyone who has the disorder suffers from anovulation. You may need to get a diagnosis and then your doc may want to put you on Clomid (an ovulation stimulating drug) to regulate your cycle and produce ovulation around the same time each cycle. An HSG is a good idea, it will rule out blockages and if you have a blockage it might be able to be cleared. Sore boobs are due to hormonal changes a lot of women get them during their or right before their cycle, BUT it doesn't mean you have ovulated. I do not have a cycle unless I am taking meds but my boobs still get a little sore b/c my hormones fluctuate, just not enough to do anything... If you have other questions let me know!

In the book Taking control of your fertility, it says that you can have ewcm at random times during your cycle and it mean absolutly nothing if you are suffering from pcos
